I don't think it's too much of a stretch for Luke (humbled after his pointless attempt to rescue his friends at Cloud City, where he ended up risking their lives having to rescue him...though Artoo wouldn't have been there to save the day if he hadn't) to return straight back to Yoda and complete his training before lending his assistance in the rescue of Han.
It ties in with Leia now being 'the other' that she would become impatient waiting for Luke and end up need rescuing herself.
I doubt that Chewie and Lando would need to spend long looking for Jabba (his Palace looks a bit obvious on a middle of nowhere planet like Tatooine).
They would need some time to formulate a rescue plan and gain access to the Palace.
I'd start the film on The Executor (allowing for the traditional Star Destroyer opening shot) and have Vader buzzing in Luke's ear, Yoda dies, show Chewie captured, Vader arrives on the Death Star, Luke arrives on Tatooine finds out about Leia running off, show Leia captured and then on with the show as seen.
That would start the film in the same tone as the ending of ESB, and allow for the roller-coaster to climb before the first exciting dips and turns during the Rancor and Sarlacc pits.
