I've been quietly reading along for some time now, and I'd hate to see this thing get dropped in similar circumstances to Infodroid's Reborn edit.

I can take criticism perfectly well, and have done for the years i have been working on these edits.If i was too stuck up to take criticism then i wouldn't be on these boards and would just do the edit without any input. Idiot. 

What i can't stand is someone is someone who will constantly go on about something when..

a) I had already said that a shot that was posted a long time ago and was unfinished at the time with a lot of work still to do on it, including a matte.

b) even thought it was pointed out to you that it was unfinished and that it has gone through a lot of changes you continue your rant, even though you have no idea what the alterations have been and how the whole composite looks now

b) Someone else posted a shot that shows that the lighting is in fact right, yet this person ignores this and still says it's wrong and posts their "proof" yet points out completely the wrong sections but still claims they are right

You did the same type of thing with the transport scene. Saying that it was incredibly fake and that having an xwing destroyed ruins the whole scene. And then giving you reasons why it looked fake but still going on and on about it when you were proved wrong and your posts were just plain rude. I'm afraid you are the one that it too stuck up in this debate. You have an attitude that you are right and everyone else is wrong as if you are something special, which i'm sorry, but you are not.   If you want to act like an asshole then be prepared to be treated like one.

Just take a look at the 7.00 render that Vaderios did. Pretty much the exact same shading that the matte has in the OLD clip WITH edge lighting, which proves your whole argument wrong. I know all about shading and had studied this for a very long time. If i knew F all about this then i wouldn't have got an art degree now would i?

I think the Ralph McQuarrie scene proves that adywan is indeed open to suggestions, contrary to BmB's belief.

The mock-ups that some people posted were quite inventive and really improved the scene, without losing McQuarrie, which was ultimately adywan's main goal.

The fact that he's been talking about and sharing the edit for the last two years shows that he is open to suggestions. Other editors seems to say things like "I don't like that scene so its gone", while Adywan can be trusted to write essays on why scenes or shots don't work for him, emotional or logistically. He just doesn't like to have to repeat himself a couple posts later.

We're lucky he doesn't go dark for RotJR, as much crazy is going to go on about what to cut or leave in that.

Ady has an art degree? Cool. Didn't know. Where from?

No, nothing specific. WAY too much going on in Ady's life right now to pin it down like that. He's just doing what he can...

Er...what gave you the idea that this might get dropped?

I know it won't be Frink, ady seems more than determined, but I'm just saying. I'd hate for a project this big, popular, etc... to get dropped because of some negative feedback from some people.
Infodroid dropped out because of too much work/pressure/**fill in here** if I believe correctly, and I'd be devastated if ady would call it quits too because of the immense pressure he is in right now --both here and in private-- and ingratitude some people seem to radiate.

It would be downright stupid to have ady stop everything now even though he already released ANH:R. Although Lucas has shown he possesses that quality, so it wouldn't surprise me (...)

Hey guys.  Sorry if this has already been discussed, but is there any release date more specific than "2011"?  I am so excited about this movie!  I know the wait will be worth it, I was just curious :D

I think Ady mentioned something a while back about finishing ESB:R by June 2011; however, Ady will be caring for his dad real soon, and he said he wants to get it done a soon as possible. So we could very well see it sooner.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Thats good to hear about the ATAT not falling in the background anymore. As good as it looked visually I felt it looked a bit busy and distracts from the film a bit.
