It's all a bit of mute point in the west as the nation state is fast becoming a thing of the past and party politics is just a means of rotating the middle managers of the local fiefdom of global corporatism (you can't even have a corporate anthem as those entities seem to shift so quickly).
None of the parties in the UK have any ideologies, given the notional reigns of power they all act exactly the same and blame anything unpopular on what their 'predecessors' did (I've not seen anything to convince me that the rest of the west is any different only the Chinese seem to know where they are and what they are doing).
Almost everything that made Britain a unique identity is being dismantled as I type or being handed over to the EU which is a puppet state writ larger.
To have a national anthem you need to have an identifiable nation.
Global capitalism seems to be having a genuine crisis at the moment so maybe that will change.
Either way I'm getting off this suburban nightmare of a planet at the first opportunity.
