Yeah, I was down on Bean after the US movie. Then we somewhat reluctantly saw Mr. Bean's Holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed it, especially my kids. Definitely a good time.

<clever segue>:

I was always aware of Buffy while it was on TV, but I never thought I was really in the demographic for it. That, or I was somewhat near the demographic, and I felt very strongly about not actually being IN it. When I worked midnights, I saw a lot of Angel, completely out of context and it wasn't even really "watching" so much as having it on at work. I thought it looked terrible.

Then there was Firefly, which I've never really appreciated the way a lot of Sci Fi geeks do, pardner. I think they took the "Sci-Fi as Western" a little too far, lil doggie. The train robery, the houses of ill repute, the dusters... just a lil' too much for this ol' buckaroo. So, the Joss Whedon name didn't carry a tonne of cache at the xhonzi homestead.

At anyrate, when we started getting into Lost, I noticed that a lot of people who were really into dissecting it were previous Buffy freaks. That surprised me since I hadn't seen anything in Buffy worth the effort. So I picked up seasons 1 & 2 and Mrs. xhonzi and I have been enjoying what we've seen so far. Xander is pretty funny. I can't remember if this is season 2 or 3, but there's one where every woman is after Xander. Pretty funny stuff.

Smallville seems to have been cut from the Buffy cloth, which I think I knew, I just forgot until we started watching Buffy. We're in season 3 somewhere of Buffy now. Are all the seasons of a quality, or does it get better/worse as it goes on?
