Hi Adywan
My best wishes and hope that everything's going OK; I know something of what you're going through right now as I lost my father to cancer 5 years ago. The most awful time of my life, hopefully your story will have a happier ending!
Anyway, more to the actual ESB:R topic, a minor thing that always bothered me was the Falcon's landing sequence on the pad at Cloud City. She comes in, fires braking thrusters (or whatever) and then just drops suddenly onto the pad. As an airline pilot, I've always been bothered by the motion of the Falcon during this part. It seems to me that the sudden pitch-down just prior to the actual touchdown looks far too abrupt and could be smoothed out a little (though I've had my own share of crappy landings, goodness knows....) And more importantly, although the struts do compress a little, to make it look like an actual ship with mass and momentum, there should be a subtle, fluid bounce-back right after the compression.
I see and wanted to thank you for fixing the other pilot's beef I had -- retracting the gear on the take off!! (both in ANH and ESB) -- and I humbly submit that the landing sequence itself would look much better (to a professional eye, at least!) with a little additional tweaking of the touchdown.
