It is not silly to research. You can learn from what people have previously posted.

You've come in here looking for stuff. Five years ago, you wanted people to tell you about the latest fan preservation, five years later it's people to hang out with you.

Five years ago I wouldn't have called myself a preservationist but those who were had created fan preservations... I wanted to obtain them. What's strange about that? And you use the term "hang out," but my phrase "serious preservationists only" that has drawn such ire here was meant to imply that this meeting would have a distinct purpose identical to that of this forum. Yeah, if I had actually said, "Hey let's hang out!" Yeah, that would have been weird. But what I said to distinguish my intent from that caused such backlash. I can't win. I think people all over the internet need to relax and not be so quick to jump down everyone's throats. And my comment in my last reply to you was meant to put the situation in perspective. I invited people to a group meeting in a crowded public place crawling with security guards, not a single person to a meeting in a dark alley. This isn't a horror movie, it's real life. Relax.
