yes but Obi-wan is one of the two main heros in AOTC. Half the storyline is following his adventure, the primary conflict of which is him trying to find and eventually capture Jango Fett.

1) I don't think it would take a jedi master to defeat Jango, he's just a very skilled normal guy with gadgets. Obi-wan would of eventually bested him. He beat maul, are you saying Jango is more powerful then Maul?
2)Well personally I don't think Obi-wan fighting dooku was all that nessesary, I would rather have Obi-wan vs Jango intercut with Anakin fighting Dooku alone. That would of been a much better climax IMHO
