DIARY OF THE DEAD
Couldn't finish it.
First film to use the "1st Person" camera gimmick that didn't seem to capture anything close to a feeling of realism. It was stagey and the dialogue was atrocious.
Part of the problem was the image was too good. Too steady and well lit. I felt I was watching a regular movie with an occasional awkward reminder I wasn't. The shots were too staged and perfectly framed, and the use of stock footage only accentuated how phony they seemed.
On top of that there wasn't a moment of fear in the first 40 minutes. Zombies trapped in a pool I since was supposed to be scary, as was a zombie in a mummy costume, but both just made me roll my eyes.
SPOILER ALERT!
"Are we worth saving, you tell me?" and the zombie cries blood. GAG ME WITH A SPOON.
Its a pity that Romero hasn't made a good movie since Knightriders.
