That's something from Yahoo, right?
I love how they call that "advice."
Another yyyyyyyyyikes:
Sun, Aug 29
Lincecum's poor stretch continued Friday as he lost his fifth straight start.
Advice: Lincecum gave up four runs in six innings, walking four. He fell to 11-9 and his ERA has risen from 3.10 to 3.80. Of course, it isn't completely his fault. He's been provided with six runs of support over those five starts and none the last two starts, which have spanned 11 1-3 innings.

Yep, always with the "advice." Once in a while, it actually is, but most of the time, it's just comments on their recent performance.
Bottom of the SECOND INNING, Juan Uribe has a 2-run homer AND a grand slam...and I decided not to put him in! (in my other league) >:-( Game of his life and they still have 7 innings to go!
I just noticed he's available in our league...

That's because I cut him loose last month. Dug him at the start of the season and have seen him play twice this year in person. He's alright. He just started slumping and I needed to gain some ground. If we get a league going again next season, I'd take a chance on him again.
What, a three team league?
;-)
Oh! Yeah, I'm in.

Well, at least that way I'll be able to tell my co-workers - "Yeah, I haven't fallen below third place all season in my fantasy league".
;-)
man do I wish I could take back that trade with Frink.
I wish to apologize to Lidge and the Phillies for saying that they were done. They are smoking hot right now and are posed for another World Series run.
Yankees, here we come.

For the record: With the Astros way out of it (but very fun to watch now that the rebuild has taken place), I'm going to have to pull for the Rangers this post season. I've always been a mild fan and have a fair number of sets of Rangers cards, cap, memorabilia, etc. I've also driven to Arlington to see them play. In fact, I saw them play the Yankees this year. I've been following them closely this season. Their games are shown on TV here.

It wasn't as bad as you think.
(note these are stats since the trade as included in our starting lineups only - I don't have access to full player stats since the trade)
Ortiz - 30/114 (.263), 19 R, 5 HR, 19 RBI
Dunn - 18/74 (.243), 12 R, 3 HR, 14 RBI
Axford - 13.2 IP, 1 W, 5 SV, 22 K, 0.00 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
Lidge - 15.1 IP, 0 W, 10 SV, 15 K, 1.17 ERA, 0.91 WHIP

The Phillies are a better team this year. Last year, they only had one great pitcher; Lee. This year we have Halladay, Hamels is back to '08 form, and we have Oswalt. Also, Lidge is almost back to '08. If the Phillies play in October the way they've played in September, I have no doubt that we will beat the Yankees. I am looking forward to watching the Phillies celebrate the championship on the field of the fake Yankee Stadium.

"So certain are you."
See what I did there? Yeah....that's right....I busted out some Empire.
Besides Warb, the real drag for you is going to be starting out 2011 with a record of 0-3.
;-)
Wow.
that is some SERIOUS smack talk.
holy carp.
Sorry to disappoint, man. That's about as smack as I get.
why are we going to be 0-3?
Because you start 2011 against the Astros.

I wasn't being sarcastic. Any time you dip into the EU, it must be for something serious.

still doesn't answer my question.
Including the four-game sweep in your yard last month, ESPN has this to say:
The Astros have owned the Phillies in recent years. They are the only NL team with a winning record (30-16) against Philadelphia since 2004.
"Houston has been a team that for years has given us problems," Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins said. "Doesn't matter if they're good or bad, they give us problems."
My point being, Warbler, is that you might want to give some thought to the teams you will be playing, as opposed to the teams you wish you could play.
It was my attempt at a little friendly smack\banter - but I see it fell short.

I didn't think you were. I was just goofing on Warbler.
All I know is that Fink is not going to be as lucky next time.

it seems rather unlikely that we will be playing you again this season. So, I'll worry about the Astros next season.

not at all.

Which part of my dominating lead is lucky? :p
whatever part my dumb trade played into it.
