I was mucking about with the Death Star's lift door shot...but I diverted to when the gang arrive in the detention block...and added some blood spatters....like suggested a while ago....

...also I dont know if it has been mentioned before but is the 'Where are you taking that thing?' guy the same actor when he gets shot?

Loving the blood!

The blood is interesting still a nice spark sequence like we see in JJ's star trek when they get shot could be interesting too.

I still dont know what to do with the two officers that are watching the escape pod. The location of where they are makes no sense to the perspective since the pod goes down. I have to make the shot more star destroyer-y if not replacing it with a shot from an other movie. I dont know for sure if it adds anything.

Mr J: I would love to see how this sequence you ve done can be handled with an alternative way of editing and look less like random flashy shots.

Another thing in ANH (and OT in general) is - you can hear that stormtroopers' armor is made out of plastic. Every time they move or run - you can hear plastic sounds. And it sounds kind of fake. Maybe it's possible to remove those sounds or change them somehow.

The sound in ANH is a mess. You can listen props foot prints and generaly the mix between the sets and the microphones ara causing a mess.

I d like to remove any element distracts from clicks tacks and what ever the poor recorders manage to capture back then. A more controllable environment to the sound too :)

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but people do realize that if it takes someone a couple of hours to do something to a frame of this movie that it would take 41 YEARS of man hours do, plus time to make sure it looked good in motion.

Make it 50 so we can be sure :)

And that task it would be silly to be done from 1 person :)

Nope.  I refuse to believe that you weren't serious.

People that joke around on this forum should be ashamed of themselves.*

Agreed. Shameful.

I like the blood, but wouldn't there be very little 'liquid' blood because it's more of a burn than a bullet ripping through?

I do like it though, just seems a bit weird, from a laser weapon.

That has been said on many of these ideas threads and editors like Ady and Bob have made some of those impossible ideas work.

Stick the ideas out there and let the editors (who sometimes don't know yet what they can't do) try and work out a way, we may be surprised.

In the past, adding surface shots of Alderaan's destruction has been discussed. While re-watching Serenity, I realized that there's a brief clip in the beginning that could be useful:

Sure, the architecture's less rounded, but it still looks evocative of Alderaan to me, if perhaps another part of the planet, or maybe a civilian/industrial sector as opposed to the capital seen in ROTS. The sharper buildings even sort of fit with the idea of the galaxy becoming a more rugged, weathered place.

Look sir, Clones!

They manage to duplicate the stormies but they failed because the shadows are in the wrong position..

The mockup hasnt fix it that yet..

Going back to analysis.

Why this instead of that:

As we can see in both films this shot is staying with straight lines and nothing proves or shows the scale or the vastness of the station.

As you can see the bottom picture is already more dynamic better composited and everything is cleared of whats going on.

Many will say that is a comic and that is a movie. Well the basic principals are there.

Even im a fan of the DS has crazy amounts of scale this image below helps a lot to prove that point of infinite metal and death.

Lets take this image for example.

As we see they stayed closely to mc's concept but we see they did more dynamic with perspective lines--> \  /

As we see in the below shot instead, the depth, the scale, the perspective dynamics, the industrial detail and the texture/greebles are far more interesting and showing what the station is. BIG! See the compositing elements too. Foreground/midground/background. The ayes have it ;)

You can include this shot as establishing and then the medium shot(image 3) for better sense of cinematography.

how about five the storm troopers color markings on their armor like the clones in the prequels.

Any chance people would like to see blue blaster fire?

Author

Well im not big fan of blue blasters, since we ve seen enough blue in ANH (stunt modes tractor beams etc)

tho im fan of mockups :)

markings it could be impossible to rotoscope it right. Apart its in a few close ups that its easy to track and showing a high rank troopie.

Doesn't the fact that you don't see any curves indicate the huge size of the station?

As to your PM, yes please :) (I do have my own theory)

It might work with that way DE. Since Whatever big can be established with infinite perspective lines pointing to chaos.

In a previous mockup i had death star hangars to be like walls that you cant see anything from the size of it. but i/you know what you mean :)
