Hello Adywan,

Did you ever release the higher bitrate .mkv file of star wars? I can only find Empire.

Fez: I am so excited about Star Whores.
Hyde: Fezzy, man, it's Star Wars.

Well, I started reading the thread from the wrong side then. Thanks for the answer :)

You are welcome.  As far as I know, the reasons for an mkv of ANH not being released have only recently been discussed, so I am not surprised you did not realize.

In an effort to be as cryptic as possible to avoid offending anyone or break any rules, can anyone seed TPM on TPB?  We're stuck at around 90% for a day or so.  :/

Wow.  Some asshole at Blu-ray.com has actually resorted to calling me a Nazi just because I am for the preservation of the Original Trilogy.

I reminded him that it was George who is actually acting Hitler-esque by revising history and pretending they don't exist.  Sheesh.

Well it was actually in response to the debate raging there and how the only hope for seeing them in HD is the AVCHD's.

Sorry.

Ok, well just a reminder that these aren't the OOT - they're the SE with some modifications.

Would someone mind PMing me and telling me where I could get these? Thanks :)

Can someone pls PM the link for the NTSC version of Episode IV? I'm downloading the ANH Revisited, but would dearly love to see the AVCHD version, too!

Thanks in advance!

There is no NTSC for AVCHD; nonetheless, PM sent.

Adywan, I know you're very busy with ESB:R but is there any chance you'll do a basic colour corrected 1080p RotJ with Sebastian Shaw's ghost?

It would give us the ability to watch RotJ in HD and with good colour until either RotJ:R or the blu-rays arrive.

Children in the backseat of a car can cause accidents, but accidents in the backseat of a car can cause children.

He's already said he won't be doing anything on ROTJ until ESB:R is done.

You might want to check out Harmy's HD ROTJ in the meantime.

Has anyone been able to test these on a Samsung BD-P3600?

My Samsung BD-P3600 played it just fine....they do accept AVCHD if that is what you're asking.

Are you saying you have burned it on a blu-ray disc?

If you are asking me, the answer is no.  Referencing the title of this thread, I burned an AVCHD DVD9 and I had no issue with the disc I made.

As long as the disc is burnt properly I don't see any reason why a Blu-Ray disc wouldn't do the same.

If the question is in reference to compatibility, the Samsung BD-P3600 handles the AVCHD file format on a DVD9 like a champ.  It will also do .MKV file format.  This particular Blu-ray machine is quite versatile....I've been a proud owner ever since it arrived at my home.

The only thing I don't like is that you can't make it "all-region" for DVD...though there is an "all-region" version of this machine with it's own nice-sized hard drive, it tends to run a bit more expensive and this one wasn't cheap to begin with.

I'm watching an NTSC (or at least a Region 0) AVCHD version of this right now....

NTSC and PAL have no meaning outside of standard def.  It's one standard, with uniform size (1920x1080 or 1280x720), and accepts different framerates, whereas PAL is 720x576(?) and 25fps, and NTSC is 720x486 (or 720x480) and 29.97fps.

Region coding is something different entirely.  With Blu-Ray, there's three (Regions A, B, and C), with DVD, there are more, and some are PAL while some are NTSC (I don't know if any DVD regions are SECAM).

@ ChainsawAsh,

Thanks for the clarification on that.  It can sometimes be difficult to follow other members posts because they may not always realize they are answering a question asked by someone who may not know the differences/specs on these things....with all that goes on here...it's just the nature of the beast I suspect.
