Oh, by "shuttle" I meant "Lambda-class shuttle". I was watching Ady's ESB theatrical version, and that strange vessel with advanced TIE wings was indeed a shuttle, as Cpt. Needa states, but not a Lambda-class shuttle. So that's why in my mind there is no (Vader/Emperor) "shuttle" in ESB :)

I've always felt it was possible to save this one shot where we see Vader's shuttle leaving Bespin. It doesn't throw the music off, and you get the visual confirmation that he's made it back to the Executor. IMO, the best of both worlds

Vader's shuttle

I have to disagree.

Movies are supposed to be about show, not tell. The work has already been done.

It's a quick snippet.

It gets the info across.

It doesn't affect the film is any negative way like keeping the whole scene would.

Personally, I can't see any downside in keeping it.

I can't disagree more about this. The info doesn't need to be added by seeing the shuttle go to the Executor. And it certainly does affect the film in a negative way.  The whole scene flowed beautifully along with the great score by John Williams in the pre SE version. Now these abominations of adding worthless scenes were added and that flow is gone and the score is hacked up. And keeping even one shot would still screw the sequence up in both the flow and the musical score.  Why GL felt that we had to see Vader travel to the Executor is beyond me. Everything that we needed to know was originally there in one line "Bring my shuttle". So what was Vader going to do with the shuttle if not head back to his ship? Was he going to go on a sight seeing tour? No. This added scene was just another unnecessary Ric Olie moment.

Every single added scene from the SE's during the escape from Bespin is gone, as it should be.

And Needa's shuttle was changed to a Lambda class shuttle so there is still a shuttle in the movie

But there is in Revisited. New CG model to replace the "strange vessel". However, keep that shot of the shuttle headed towards the Executor is still a negative in my book.

My problem with the shot with the Falcon as the sun crests over Bespin is that the sun is setting as they leave Cloud City. I guess its on the opposite side of the planet, but then why head towards the only Star Destroyer in the system instead of straight up and away from the City?

I thought you still had the crowd shots from when Lando is ordering the evacuation?

It's a bit off topic, or maybe not.

I didn't bought the dvd, coz I don't care, but I couldn't belive my ears what they say. I'm so upset, that one man have so much controll, what done with Spielberg? Pointed a gun to his head? I can't belive this, what crap titles they wanted to add to the film. And GL's aliens but it's not aliens... Gash, I'm soooo angry. OKay sorry about this if it's off topic, but hearing someone is incompetent and hearing it is a different.

I have one question for Ady:

Are you removing that three seconds SE scene of the citizens in the corridor who stop to look upwards as Lando advises to leave the city?

It always seemed to me very, very out of place... those three lone people in a ill-lit, terrible looking CGI corridor (which reminds me some of the most awful GCI scenes in the PT). The people doesn't look right, their clothes don't look right, the corridor doesn't look right... Is it going to be removed somehow?

It's staying in, euroherbal. In fact, ady recolored the guy's uniform. It's an actual set, by the way. Not CGI.

Yeah, it looks like they used the hallway Lando pulls Leia from right before they run for the Falcon (the SE adds windows to this shot too). They took the empty hallway frame and flipped it, then bluescreened some people in there. Not a bad job, really, except for the duplicated buildings and lighting (which is why Ady replaced them).

Some interesting takes on some of the shots you showed us here ady.

I like you went to a 3d way solution rather build props for the transports. hoping for more 3d action for sure :)

It can be interesting seeing some ships coming out of the hangar cave(if its kept) or some distant smokes behind the mountains from the aftermath.

I'm only using CG for things that i can't film with real models. Trust me, if i could have got hold of a good scratch built studio scale model of the transport i would have used that. CG should only be used that way. To use to film impossible things. Never when a real world object could be used especially when sets are concerned. Too many films go over the top with CG and it's one thing that is wrong with a lot of  today's filmmakers. They just don't think how it could be filmed for real but instead they just say " i want this to happen so let's just CG it". Crap film making at its finest

And there are already ships coming out of the hangar and you wouldn't see any smoke behind the mountains because the battle was taking place to the right of the camera

Well the use of CG on a practical way and not for cheap ways of avoiding money spending is an other thing. I like you are using both ways (CG and props). It actually might help with the PT:R thing.

If it can used right (see ANH:R and ESB:R) it can save time of building and animate stuff with the old ways.

Id love to see some alternative takes or even remastered original ones with CG such as millenium falcon straight flybys or light incosistences or even some poor shots such as the falcon flies above the SD surface before it passes from Needa's bridge.

Now THAT I can see. I agree. There's only so much you can fix in the PT without CGI. God knows CGI will be your best friend when you start working on the PT.
