I have finally seen & heard this little unique project of yours, and I must say I was a little surprised of how much I enjoyed it. I'm no fan of isolated scores in general, but this wasn't exactly like that anyway. To have the footage in black and white gave me old WWII documentary vibes from time to time as the films themselves flirts with it from time to time.

I've always thought that the Empire score works in two distinctive ways, (as so many great scores does of course) but this works perfectly in the finished film imo. (and I would not like the edited music back if I could choose as I think Empire has almost wall to wall scoring as it is already) and it also works perfectly as an alternative standalone listening experience outside the film as there is so much music that was edited out etc, but I've now actually found a third way to enjoy it. :)
