Controversy be damned.

It wasn't his fault, he did a good job while doing it BUT (sharp intake of breath) Bela Lugosi as Dracula.

From then on in some aspect of Lugosi's performance (which is totally different from the book) has made it's way into almost every adaptation of the story.

In the book, Dracula hasn't got an accent (just a strange intonation), starts of old with a thick moustache and becomes younger as he drinks more blood, doesn't wear a cape (he only wears black), doesn't say, "I never drink...vine" and is never charming to the ladies.

Try and think of an adaptation of the story in the book (it doesn't matter how loose) since that hasn't got at least one trait introduced by Bela (other than Jesse Franco's).
