I always liked the soundtrack to the original Quake. Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) did it and it's pretty creepy and well suited for the game.

Okay, so that new Bioshock 2 DLC is EXACTLY what DLC should be!
So often DLC seems like stuff that should be included with the game in the first place. Like the previous BS2 DLC, the stupid Protector Trials. Or the Mercenaries mode on Resident Evil 5. So much DLC is just simple crap to add reply value, which is something traditional tacked onto the game at release.
Bioshock 2's Minerva's Den DLC feels like a good old fashioned expansion pack, and totally worth paying for. Adds several hours of game play, and honestly, the storyline was awesome. I really enjoyed it. The actual game's story line kind of bored me, but the story in this DLC really held my attention.
R-Type was really hard. I must have been level 5, no more.
But worst:
Xain'd Sleena
Haha! Best post ever! I feel like I have just had a hand shoved in my face, but it was so unbelievable well done, I can't help but be extremely amused by it.
Just waiting for my boy Xhonzi, once he come back this thread will be ours again!... but until then...
Pac-Man and Galaga were always more of my thing. Used to really like Space Invaders, but now that it comes down to it, I am not sure why. There were far more creative games contemporary to it. Robotron was another winner.
PomPom games has made some really fantastic remakes of Defender and Robotron, called Space Tripper and Mutant Storm, respectively.
Hmm, looking at the site, it looks like Space Tripper has now been updated and renamed Astro Tripper. I wonder if that had anything to do with the fact that if you say Space Tripper out loud it sounds dangerously like Space Stripper; I have gotten funny looks when recommending the game on more than one occasion on account of that auditory oddity.

Which brings up one of my fave topics game music.
Who has some fave game soundtracks whether only in game or on CD?
I know this was a page ago, but the topic of game music is one of my favourites too.
Off the top of my head, some of the best music IMHO found in games:
Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
Dr. Mario (NES & SNES, as Tetris & Dr. Mario)
Prince of Persia (not much of a fan of the music on the SNES version, as that one is pretty much a SE of Prince of Persia, other than that any incarnation of the original music, DOS, Apple II, Amiga and so on...)
Contra (NES, Arcade & MSX)
SMB1 & 3 (NES & SNES ... SMB2 music?... meh)
Ninja Gaiden (of course)
Castlevania (wow I love Castlevania, the original games on the NES, and Super Castlevania IV on the SNES, just wow...)
Tetris Tengen, IMHO superior both in terms of soundtrack and gameplay to the "official" Nintendo version... it may be because I played this during my childhood and not the other one... (well... childhood... it WAS 1996...)
these just to name a few, including Kirby, Metroid and Battletoads.
Getting back to the question:
Who has some fave game soundtracks whether only in game or on CD?
all of these, plus many more, I don't have them on cd, but I have a 1st gen 1GB Ipod nano, with Rockbox on it (check it out it's the bee's knees!), full of videogame soundtracks from the Nes, Snes and C64. All of these are dumped straight from the cartridges, and thus occupy very little space, as opposed to what they would occupy if they were in, say, mp3 format. Just like a midi (which Rockbox can play, also) these files just store the information about the notes, then a plugin plays them.
I always liked the soundtrack to the original Quake. Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) did it and it's pretty creepy and well suited for the game.
Renegade (only great on Amstrad). The music were nice. I can do the whole game 5 times successfuly.
I don't remember that one, but it reminds me of Double Dragon and Final Fight.
Oooohh... I totally forgot about those great perspective games...
"Head over heels"... Soooo Great !!!

Renegade is the only one where you can kick them in the balls (even the bitches).
... And on the floor.
Someone tell ABC that bitches don't have balls.
speaking of games and since this is after all a SW-based forum, the Angry Video Game Nerd mocked George Lucas and his SE changes at the start of his latest video, just after the theme. Check it out:

Renagade got an awsome follow up for once in Target Renagade
You had to fight big ard prostitutes and kick dogs.
I dread to think how much money i payed on repeatedly playing OutRun. Wanted a Ferrari from then on when i grew up.....still hasn't happened.
Target Renegade was a deep shit. You disapoint me here.
Yeah but you had to fight big ard prostitutes and kick dogs.
Depends on what platform you play it on i guess. The spectrum vertion was awesome.
Ah.
Game Gear was pure crap. Bought one because everyone was on about how it had color and was better and more advanced than the GameBoy in every way. Sure, the images on the screen looked pretty but the games were insanely short and it used 6 AA batteries that it drained in no time. Not to mention it would get so hot it would sometimes burn your thumb through the d-pad. Great system that Game Gear. Not six months later I traded it in, games and all, and bought myself a limited edition ice blue GameBoy Pocket with Link's Awakening. The game took me months to beat, the 2 AAA batteries lasted nearly forever in the thing, it never burnt my fingers, and it was small enough to fit in my pocket and as such it went pretty much everywhere with me.
That taught me a good lesson about looks not being everything at a decently young age. Game Gear looked extremely sexy, but treated you like crap and any adventures were over before you could even begin to enjoy them. GameBoy was cute enough, even though it looked a little basic with its dot matrix display, but was ready and willing to give you a wild and fulfilling experience that wouldn't stop... You know, if its name didn't have the word "boy" in it, I'd be a little more comfortable with this analogy...

I just read the 3 1st words... I don't know game gear. But in any case...
Valve have released an updated trailer for Portal 2, and apparently Steve Merchant is doing the voice of Wheatley. As if I didn't need any more reasons to buy this game:
That is REALLY awesome! Thanks for the link Banana Man.
Now February feels even further away... can't wait to play it.

You see C3PX, I'm not going to enter a diplomatic debate for 3 weeks across many threads to repeat it and to justify my point of view... I will only say it once:
DARTH SOLO, you're pretty boring. And it's nothing to tell you this that way. I know you understand what I mean.
I have no idea what the hell you are on about now, so I am just going to ignore you and let it slide. I have no idea if you are taking an honest crack at Darth Solo for whatever reason, or if you two are just joking with each other.

As you see I removed my post and the problem as been settled by PM. Life is so simple my friend !
PS: Besides, if you could unquote my words to DS please, thanks.
