The way I see it -

All of a sudden, that thing opens and your fanboy-alert goes off. You're thinking, "Whoah! What the hell is that? Is that what I think it is?!"

You suspect it's the red lightsaber, but you're not 100% sure.

And then later - when Anakin ignites his saber and it glows red - your inner fanboy wakes up for real and you enjoy the rest of the movie with a dumb grin on your face. XD
