"Just joining..." as in, collecting my thoughts... to then post something huge and mind-blowing... a post so infinite in mass and complexity as to task even the greatest minds (like you Frink) and make knees tremble at the awesome power of the written word on what could be the greatest undertaking of them all....
Shameless self promotion...
LOL, I await your post with great anticipation and knees a-trembling.

That's what she said.
Oh Michael, how we miss you...
ROTJ:
I don't know if anyone has already mentioned it, but one of my personal little annoyances is when the Gonk Power Droid is being tortured by a branding iron to his feet. The irons never connect to the feet, yet the steam shoots up (from little holes in the feet for the effect).
So please:
1. Let the branding iron actually touch his feet.
2. Make it look like the steam is in the 'shape' of the iron (so not coming from small holes)
3. Maybe an afterglow, when the iron rises afterward.
Note that I'll be happy as a clam with only #1. 2 and 3 are mere suggestions for further rounding the effect.

Please cut that out altogether, the idea of torturing droids is wrong and the shot is apparently there for a laugh (just remember those sounds the droid makes... got it? and now remember the sounds of the "comic relief" robots in the SE Mos Eisley sequence) and torture should be no laughing matter.

Speaking of the Gonk powerdroid torture scene, shouldn't the "voice" of the Gonk also be of a much lower pitch, as it's voice was much deeper (along the lines of the medical droid in EMPIRE) when on the Sandcrawler in ANH? In JEDI, it is more high pitch, like Anthony Daniel's voice for 3P0 (which adds to the silliness, which itself is inappropriate for a torture scene).
I can't say I mind it, as it made me cringe as a kid (not in a groanish way, but being creeped out seeing something helpless get tortured way), which was the point (to further show Jabba's nastiness).... the problem is the high-pitched "no! no!" voice and the jerky movement of the robots in question.
I say if the scene is to be kept, keep the feet still (not moving around) with the HALish deeper voice doing a calm begging plea, with a scream being melded with static or a microphone resonation sound FX when the iron hits (and show the feet glowing orange and starting to melt instead of steam shooting out... maybe even show that the feet are already half-melted from previous tortures).
The point of the scene is to get the audience to fear what could happen to 3P0 and R2D2. I would also get rid of EV-9D9's flapping mouth:

I like flaps...
nvm
Also in ROTJ, 3PO is never fitted with a restraining bolt.
I think it'd be easier to remove the "Fit him with a restraining bolt" line than to try to put one on him.
Who says the restraining bolt has to be in a visible location?
You're welcome for the mental images.
Not funny.
Yeah, you're right, that was stupid. First line stands though. Maybe Jabba's droids have better restraining bolt technology than the Jawas?
It'd be nice to see the scene you've plotted, with Luke entering an abandoned, ruine Jedi Council chamber, and the ghosts sitting in their old seats, Luke watches a celebrating Coruscant, and the saga ends
^It's a nice idea maybe in four years or so it will be the sort of thing easy enough for amateurs (in the true sense of the word) to do.
At the moment it might not be so easy but maybe someone out there can prove me blissfully wrong.
I got something from ROTJ, maybe it's possible to do it. During the Vader Luke fight, when Vader falls down and Luke chops up his hand, it looks like Vader deliberately adopts that position
I've always thought that. It's a bit too convenient. Don't really know what could be done with it, though.
It is a real head scratcher that one.
Short of replacing Vader with a suitably suited actor arriving suffering a similar but less staged fate and seamlessly blocking Mark's moves, I can't think of a solution either.
It's not as if much of that part of the fight would need replacing (it's just getting him into that position and removing the obviously fake hand on a stick as in Angel's mock up).
He his on his back almost as if in a slide, which would suggest more of a kick or a Force Push than a natural reaction to being bashed as seen in the original version.
It does show how much more stylish and thought out the saber duel in ESB was.
Maybe the actual scene where Vader takes a dive could be edited out (though that could create problems, as Vader would go from standing up to down on his knees in the next shot), and the hacking Luke does could be edited so Luke takes out Vader's forearm almost immediately after he knocks him down.
It would be hard, but could Vader's fall from the carbonite chamber be used from EMPIRE in this way: there is the far shot showing Luke beating Vader back to the elevator; cut to a static shot showing Luke raising his hand (or making another gesture) and take Vader's fall and move it sideways to imply him being propelled into the elevator door; cut to Luke beating on Vader, who is now on his back; cut out some of Luke beating on Vader's lightsabre (as Vader is just holding it out) and maybe cut Vader's forearm off in the 1st or 2nd hit.

How about using the force push noise to show look pushed him to the floor with the force in his anger?
