Still, I think it's completely unnecesary to show Dak covered in blood. As many posted before, there's no need to be Captain Obvious all the time: when I saw the film for the first time (I was 10 too), I didn't have any problem to imagine that Dak was down with the laser hit so he wasn't able to answer Luke, it all made perfectly sense as it was... and I tell you Ady is not going to add a shot of Dak bleeding, because that's what GL would do :P

You know, I like the laser blast idea better! It`s weird, because every time I have watched "empire", I always think of that scene and what I thought I saw. I`m sure its a false memory now, but he died such a chumps death... Done in by a fire extinguisher...

The Rogues will be more than happy to give the last two cruisers out of the Hoth System an escort. ^^
Actually as the last fighter group out of there that would make sense. Maybe show a ditched T-47 snowspeeder somewhere in the background as it would take too long to load them apparently. ;)

What I am trying to say is that in the new shoot, the transport seems closer so we know it cannot be much bigger, but in the old shoot, the transport is further away...
In SW wiki it says that the transport ship is 90 m long. It is difficult to say in both shoots how far away the ship is and thus the real scale of those transports relative to a person.

If you look close you can see that Ady has new X-wings in the same area. It is just hard to see.

If you allow me, I think it's a difficult shot. The one bellow looks bigger, not only because it is more far, but perhaps it's a matter of horizon lign. I don't know the real scale of that ship but it is obvious to me seeing the new shot that a man will have a hard time crounching under it. I would see it bigger then, or if same size, placed a little further from it's actual lign.
... Sorry, I know it's hard. However it's not as important to my eyes. Only if you want people look at your edit with a microscope ! ;) ... But it's beautiful anyway.
EDIT: What I would try personnaly may be to make the landing gears a bit longer (edit) with the ship a little higher from its shadow... Like the original shot.
PS: Considering the effort, and the fact the shot isn't finished I wonder if it was a good idea to share my point...
I always thought they were at the back of the base at this point (bare in mind the falcon just flew out of there a few moments ago if memory serves me correctly) so if the cave entrance was changed slightly it might make more sense.

I know most of you guys are really looking forward to the spruced up Hoth battle because it seems that's where a lot of the work is going into but I'm actually still curious as heck about the new wampa, the Bespin makeover and most of all just the fantastic color corrections across the board. 2011 can't come fast enough. : )

The only thing I can think of to add any sort of scale to the transports is maybe show 1 or 2 people boarding the midground transport (say running up a ramp in the front)

Leia explains earlier on in the briefing scene that this is a different entrance. You can also see that the transports are housed in a completely different hangar than the Falcon. The hangars are all over the place and connected with all the tunnels we see. Plus it's been mentioned that there should be only 1 transport as 3P) says "Your highness, we must take this last transport". Well this isn't a mistake by adding 2 transports. In the briefing Leia says this: "All troop carriers will assemble at the north Entrance.The heavy transport ships will leave as soon as they are loaded." So what we see here are the heavy transport ships and not the troop carriers.
