There will be more activity in the transport scenes

That's a nice confirmation there adywan, and I'm looking forward to the added 'depth' of the overall Hoth battle you're planning, compared to the 2004 DVD mix.  Can't wait to hear how that will sound on the surrounds!  Been kind of busy of late, but look out for a PM later tonight concerning the workprint.  You're doing ridiculously good work on this!  :)

Also, some of you may be interested in this new thread I've started in the 'Off Topic' section, if you get a moment sometime -  http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Imps-MOVIE-TRAILER-SHOWCASE-PAST-PRESENT-AND-COMING-SOON/topic/11782/

Some very nostalgic stuff there IF..........makes you think modern advertising has lost touch.... on gettin the audience excited etc.....I have Pearle & dean on HD if you want it.

for advertising?

I'm not sure Ady would want to publicly advertise this fanedit through standard media channels. Fox and/or Lucasfilm might be annoyed.

I believe Jaitea just made a point that modern advertising has lost its touch, whereas Ady with his one man project is getting us more excited than Lucasfilm has in years with official releases...

I don't think there was a suggestion of Ady commercially endorsing his edit (other than inadvertantly gaining exposure from positive word of mouth) plus Ady isn't stupid enough to invite a lawsuit. Nor would promoting something he can't possibly make money from be in his interest either.

You're telling me that if you are wearing (sun)glasses while sitting in a chair, when you turn around your shoulder/the chair will push them up on your face such that they don't sit on your nose properly? I doubt it.

Have you tried that while strapped into the chair, and wearing a lifejacket and crash helmet? ;)

My two cents is, it's probably because of the collar on his jumpsuit. No?

As probably the only one here who owns the helmet, flight suit, and Hoth jacket I can hopefully clear somethings up. The collar is pretty stiff can alter the angle of the helmet when wearing it. With limited mobility being strapped in also means movement in the chair is limited and a helmet visor bumping into things can happen easily. I've sat down in all my gear and all kinds of things shift out of place just by doing that motion alone. Again... I only can confirm this cos I own these items. ^^

I'm glad that most work is done with ESB-R. Here are though some questions/suggestions:

1. Is it possible to have the sky still while the tauntaun is attacked by the Wampa? Now the camera is moving up to make it look like the tauntaun is falling.

2. Please Adywan don't give the wampa more screen time than in the original version! Jaws was exciting because we didn't see much of the fish. The worst thing with SE was that they had to show that the wampa had lost his arm. I can hear Homer Simpson saying "oh, I thought that was Chewbaccas arm!"

3. When the AT-AT steps on Lukes snowspeeder, is it possible to make the step look more heavier (speed it up or animate it lower so that the snowspeeder gets more damage?). Also the ground should vibrate with Luke so near the AT-AT. Maybe do the last step more stopmotion-like?

4. At the end of the movie when R2-D2 finally put the Falcon in light speed, I would like to have the universe rotate like it always has been. ANH had a different effect.

For all of you (and me!) that have suggestions of alterations, please concentrate of these things that bothered you 10 years ago or longer (or in ANH-R about the lightspeed), I can't imagine anybody here for example who had thought of Lukes visor in the snowspeeder-cockpit in the 1990s. Think instead of the first time you saw Star Wars, what would you have liked to change at that time?

Time

1. Not sure on that.
2. Don't worry, Adywan is planning on keeping the same amount of time, just a more consistent look to the Wampa.
3. There will be shaking.
4. There will be spinning.

That's exactly how it's always been since 1980. I have done nothing to camera movements.

And 005 has answered the others :)

Thanks for the answer (and good luck, you have my support)!

This will be my last entry in this thread (if there is nothing else I can come up with that is important), see you all in the Return of the jedi thread!   :-)

How would you feel? The real deal is tucked away in a plastic bag while a Disney Mickey version gets to roam free on the top shelve! :)

Thanks Ady re: the transport takeoff. Can't wait to see it!

Got another question, if you don't mind. When Han and Leia are making their escape, when the Echo Base tunnel collapses, am I right in thinking that the SE added an altered scream from Leia during the cave-in? Also, after Han tells the transport to take off without them and he picks up Leia, she gives out an additional grunt that I don't recall being in the original mix (though my laserdisc player has given up the ghost so I can't check the original version now).

Details, mere details. But obviously you'd be the one to know.

"Darth Vader... tall and threatening in his black helmet, flowing black cape, and a face, forever masked, by a foreboding metal breath screen...

Darth Vader... a figure, who moves forever in a cloud of awesome evil!"

There has always been something that bothered me since I saw this movie in 1980. I dont know if it`s my imagination or what... But I have a very strong memory of seeing Daks face when Luke was calling for him. He was slumped over with blood dripping from his face. I have never seen the shot again (if it really existed) But it makes sense for a shot like this because it explains why he doesnt answer to Luke. Maybe a short shot of this added would work for the overall scene...

That's a Celebration 3 Yoda that I didn't want collecting dust so it remained incased in its' carbonite, I mean plastic bag. ^^ Jedi Mickey was a gift and there are several variants of that particular plush mickey. Although this is my favorite version: Jedi Mickey

Now come on be easy on me guys... It wasn't any chainsaw massacre sort of thing.... I know that certainly theatrical cuts can differ from home cuts though. It`s probably nothing more than the overactive imagination of a 10 year old at the time than fact, but it still makes sense to have a shot like that either it be real or not.
