Good good lol. Im not knockin the guy for his skills but.....ok well i am. Just wish that he would think before he does something. Kinda reminds me of those annoyin people you see in the background of a news report who have to wave their arms and try and attract your attention as your tryin to watch and see something important.
Like one of these?
This has given me possibly an interesting idea of having the sail barge slightly rock back and forth on it's suspensor field creating the subtle impression of the barge acting more like a sea ship.
Maybe this could be more pronounced in the battle if the barge was damaged, it could be done by animating some of the rigging and some deck objects as well as simulating the rocking of the barge against a stabilised background.
Obviously this would look rather comical if overdone.
Has anyone considered adding in the rope (and maybe the post it dangles from) that Luke/Leia swing on to the appropriate shots of the Barge, so it just doesn't appear out of nowhere?
The rope that woul have to be anchored in midair between the barge and the skiff? ;-) It's an iconic thing, but physically impossible, am I thinking right?

If the barge was listing to one side it could explain the mystery of the Carkoonian Rope Trick and make the destruction of the barge more interesting, the production paintings seem to suggest a more dramatic destruction than the disappointing model shot.
I'm surprised George didn't add a "flying rope droid" for the 2004 DVD.
I was just trying to say that it would be as simple as adding the post with the rope hanging from it in shots where it's supposed to be.
If the sails on at least the main sail barge are enlargened (or a bigger sail is added), as well as ropes to "tie them down" like regular sails on a sailing ship, a shot could be added to show one of these sail posts being destroyed, with said sail and post falling to one side. The Luke/Leia have an extending pole from which said rope can properly swing from. Of course, showing the sail barge list towards the sarlacc pit and Han's skiff would help too.
Maybe another slightly larger version of the two sails could be created to overlap above the 2 sails seen here.
Of course there is nothing saying that Luke just uses his jedi powers to levitate Leia and himself over to Han's skiff...
You know, come to think of it, I wonder why they didn't have Leia kiss him on the cheek and say "for luck" again. It's not like Lucas took anything else from ANH when doing JEDI.

That's the problem though because to do that with the barge and skiff in their current positions would require adding a mast many feet over their heads pointing across the gap between the two ships at the right angle to let the swing happen.
It might be easier to adjust the angle of the whole barge at that point as the mast would look really out of place with the rest of the design.
I thought extending the end of the mast would be an obtainable fix, but oh well. I tried. :)

AHH I just heard about this scene being revealed as well. I am so pumped for the release. I am sure this will add to Ady's version of ROTJ.

....ooh, beaten to the punch!

When it happens, let's hope it's not a BLUE Blu-ray trailer. :)
:O, i know it detracts from the barge reveal, but that was awesome!
it needs to be in Adywan's edit. but he should edit down Vader's lines.
Extras like this make the BR all the more tempting, but it needs to have the OUT, or at least have all of the unaltered footage in HD. Sad that things like "Lapti Nek" might be considered Deleted Scenes...

Really? If this is actually the original scene shot in 1980s I'll eat my shoes.
1)It's totally not really Mark Hamill.
2) He's not wearing the glove (M.H. said he remembers wearing it in that scene).
3) The dismountable lightsaber prop made especially for that scene is not use, insted the riddiculous stand in for M.H. screws with a screwdriver (apparently not actually doing anything) to convey the idea of finishing the sabre.
4) All that footage is shot prequel style (I'm pretty sure that it's the ROTS Vader costume in the Vader shots and it uses a weird video-like zoom and the whole thing just looks like a home made video to me - yes I know it is shot with a camera from a screen but I somehow don't think that is the reason it looks like it does).
I think it sucks ass and it definitely should not be put into the movie, even if they restored the actual original scene. Much like the Jabba scene in SW it was originally cut for a good reason and should be kept out.
#1 - Looks like ROTJ Mark to me.
#2 - He doesn't even get the glove until after the fight at the Sarlacc, when his artificial hand gets shot and the wiring is exposed. He would NOT have had the glove on in this scene.
#3 - Show me a picture of this prop, I've never seen it
#4 - It doesn't look "prequel style" to me at all. The lightsaber ignition shot reminds me of Vader lighting Luke's in ROTJ, and the shots of Vader walking to his chamber feel just like ROTJ.
I do agree that this scene was cut for a good reason, though.

isn't that a bit immature?

well that scene literally sent chills up my spine i cant's wait for the blue ray
edit
well i can think that part of the reason was to keep the surprise of luke's lightsaber
seeing that this is a wishlist thread, how would one go about incorpiraiting this scene into the movie
Presumably, right after Vader goes "The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am" and storms off, this scene begins, where Vader is continuing to storm off, arrives in his chamber-thing, and starts telepathically communicating to Luke.
I'm 98% sure that this isn't the full version of the scene, and it actually continues onward, with Luke giving R2 the lightsaber, then sending the droids off.
Then you'd cut to R2 and Threepio heading to Jabba's palace, and the film continues as normal from there.
