I believe they had anamorphic Laserdisc in Japan, but only because it lasted long enough there to see the introduction of 16x9 displays. I don't know why this is anamorphic, as there would be no advantage to it since 16x9 tvs didn't exist in the United States at the time this would have been made, IIRC.
