PLEASE NOTE - Just in case anyone happens to stumble across this old ‘Trailers’ thread of mine sometime - although I’ve got many diverse ‘scene edits’ worked out for future use, I’m just temporarily using this space to visualise a few select ones for myself before I get a chance to set up a ‘personal blog’ to show a lot more ideas eventually! 😃

HOW I’D LIKE TO RE-EDIT THE OPENING OF ‘PROMETHEUS’ -

Although a lot of fan editors ADD the extended footage of additional ‘elder Engineers’ to the existing footage of an ‘Engineer’ sacrificing himself by willingly ingesting the ‘black goo’, I’d prefer to DISCARD this ‘Engineer’ opening altogether, so that the reveal of what the ‘Engineers’ actually look like is kept a mystery till later on…right up until the running ‘hologram recordings’ appear initially.

So this is how I’d like to re-structure my new opening instead -

LATEST IDEA TO GIVE A NEW, EXTENDED ‘CONCLUSION’ TO ‘PROMETHEUS’ FOR MYSELF IF A SEQUEL TO ‘ALIEN COVENANT’ NEVER GETS MADE! -

We see the usual ending where we hear Shaw’s voiceover say “FINAL REPORT OF THE VESSEL PROMETHEUS…THE SHIP AND HER ENTIRE CREW ARE GONE…IF YOU’RE RECEIVING THIS TRANSMISSION, MAKE NO ATTEMPT TO COME TO IT’S POINT OF ORIGIN…THERE’S ONLY DEATH HERE NOW…AND I’M LEAVING IT BEHIND…IT’S NEW YEARS DAY, THE YEAR OF OUR LORD, 2094…MY NAME IS ELIZABETH SHAW…LAST SURVIVOR OF THE PROMETHEUS…AND I’M STILL SEARCHING…” as we see the Juggernaut ship rise up through the clouds, then blast away…

…as we continue as normal, as we fade to black and then see the ‘Deacon’ alien burst through the chest of the dead Engineer…

(MAYBE something along these lines - …as we PERHAPS fade from the echoing blackness of the Deacon’s roar, to seeing the Juggernaut drifting (silently??) through space (like the tiny ship shot at the start of ALIEN COVENANT does)…and then hear SOME of David’s voiceover dialogue, and end with him saying “AND THEN I WAS ALONE AGAIN…I LEARNED OF THEIR WAYS, AND AWAITED OUR ARRIVAL…”, as we continue as normal, and the Juggernaut ship arrives at the Engineer homeworld, as David drops the ‘black goo’ bombs on the terrified inhabitants, saying “LOOK ON MY WORKS YE MIGHTY…AND DESPAIR!”…and then CUT to some kind of re-edited version of the ‘ADVENT’ short film where David sends a filmed message back to the Weyland-Yutani company about his creation of a ‘wolf’, and how this is going to change everything, and that his creatures will rule the galaxy…and then CUT to the brief alien shot in the AUDI mars rover advert…and then cut to the end credits.

OR SHOULD I CUT TO HEARING THE WEYLAND YUTANI PROTOCOL SEQUENCE INITIATED…COMMENCE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE AFTER THE SHOT OF THE JUGGERNAUT FLYING OFF? (OR AFTER THE DEACON’S ROAR IF I INCLUDE IT?), AND THEN CONTINUE ON WITH SOME KIND OF RE-EDIT OF ‘THE CROSSING’ AND ‘ADVENT’ FOOTAGE?? - PERHAPS EVEN STARTING WITH THE FIRST PART OF DAVID’S ‘ADVENT’ MESSAGE (FORMALLY REFERRING TO ‘ELIZABETH SHAW’ INITIALLY)…THEN CUT TO SOME OF ‘THE CROSSING’ FOOTAGE (WHERE HE’D THEN INFORMALLY JUST CALL HER ‘ELIZABETH’)…THEN CUT BACK TO THE REST OF THE WAY I’M RE-EDITING THE ‘ADVENT’ MESSAGE. NEW IDEA FOR MY ‘PROMETHEUS’ ENDING - …Juggernaut flies off as we hear Shaw’s voice-over message / continue as normal with baby ‘Deacon’ chestbursting out of dead Engineer, as it roars to blackness (do a re-edited version of this to remove shots I don’t like) / CUT to a re-edited version of ‘The Crossing’ up until the end of where David is alone with the Engineer ‘suits’ / CUT to the actual ‘Alien Covenant’ scenes of Juggernaut arriving at the Engineer’s homeworld and dropping black goo bombs on them, ending with David saying **" FINISH THIS
