Oh the infamous Mini Pops.

There was a documentary about them on television some time ago, sure some of the performances were inappropriately framed but the detractors seemed more perverted than the largely clueless people who made the show.

I think my mother's reaction to them was something like "Sweet but I wish they'd wash that muck of the girl's faces".

I just thought it was tediously boring, I didn't like pop music much when I was a kid and the last thing I wanted to see was other kids screwing up an already perfectly awful Haircut 100 track.

I think the documentary is on Youtube if you want to see it but be warned out of context it does look rather dodgy.

For Toyah Wilcox to be so horrified after appearing in a film where a character proclaimed admiration for Myra Hindley and where a pram (presumably with it's occupant inside) was set alight while the mother was tied to a lamp post with barbed wire is bonkers to say the least.
