Welcome aboard VettaDen.  I certainly lol'd at your first post here.

I'm not sure if you're meaning over 504 pages of 'off-topic' stuff or not, but there's been plenty of interesting notions along the way on this thread, whether they get used or not.  A lot of ideas have ended up getting a yes, no, or maybe out of adywan, and have helped to see what's ahead in that respect.  Not sure he'll be adding too many lolz to this edit though.

Is there the possibility of just replacing the shot with Vader on a viewscreen?  When you think about it, it is rather silly to have a smurf-sized Vader (or anyone) on what looks like a cigarette plug-in hologram add-on...

 It's hard to find footage of Vader in that sort of pose at that angle, anyone know anybody with a Vader suit?...come to think of it, my son has one.

Okay, I know I am a liitle late to this particular discussion, but I am against other language versions than English, although (or because) I work for a German Dubbing Studio. But the German dub is really bad. And the SE dub is even worse, because some of the voice artists died and they used different voices. Especially the "Bring my shuttle!" / "Alert my Star Destroyer" scene is horrible in German, because of the different voice actors.

But I will happily contribute German subtitles if needed / desired.

That in itself suggests a whole new project area, the search for dubbing artists for better dubbed versions. The original language and subtitles is almost always the better option (possibly not necessarily the case with the PT) but it should be within the sound mixing abilities of some of us here to do rather good sound mixes for alternative dubs (even some languages that never got a version of their own).

IIRC, that scene is pretty horrible in English as well. ;)

Yes it is, but it is much more horrible in the German dub.
