Angel, I love your modernistic approaches to this movie. Seeing as you are doing all of that, I or even better, somebody else, needs to do some audio work to enhance the dated tinny vocal mix.

With the star map things it would be interesting to see them as animated holograms and lose the glass/plastic altogether. When I was very small I thought they were meant to be lasers anyway but growing up on a diet of Doctor Who had made me more forgiving.
Animated something is in the plans Bingo :)
Still i liked how modern they look even with a new color palete :) Some shots are looking ESBish now :D

As much as I love almost all of Angel's mockups can these be translated into actual moving edit options with the technology available to us (beyond photoshoping each frame which is possible but would require some sort of Star Wars sweatshop with each drone schooled in Angel's frame adjustment methods)?
I like looking at these pictures but I'd much rather see the film if you catch my drift?
Replacing backgrounds with those from ESB can only be possible if the scene had locked-off cameras like Luke & Leias Death Star swing and the least amount of masking & keyframing to keep it believable, Luke's Lightsaber training on the ESB Falcon would be pretty hard with all the motion blur etc (i'm not sure if the ANH footage of Luke is locked-off) and thats just one person in that shot with its background replaced.
It would be very time consuming.

Since you are here a question from editing pov.
ANH is an example of retro editing.showing things happening. Example is when the company goes to rescue leia and they shoot the cameras. Editing wise they put very quick frames of destruction to create a mess. and sometimes they can create a mess. Do you think that can be fixed and be more like nowadays?

i'm definetly going to take a crack at doing the general hologram
anyway this is a redone score for the obiwan vader duel in ep 4 revisited with some new sound effects.

I find that interesting while browsing images. Altering ben's hut to be more nature like house. A house in a rock.
Taking references from cappadocia it could be more interesting creating new scenes. Funnily enough the interior of some hotels/houses are like ben's hut. So the connection fits :)

Hi Avatar, I must say you have done an excellent job.
Your masking and editing is excellent, the only thing that lets the video down is the sound & hologram effects, but overall.....very well done....it sells it!!

thanks well this is my first time doing a holo effect i may return to it sometime when i gain more experience
Which reminds me... why Vader walks all the time..somewhere to nowhere.
I have ideas placing him to be more static (aka ESB like) to more strategic and dramatic places. have him to a pre meditation chamber?
Have him watching/meditating while watching the TIE patrols out of a big window?
Also its like he is indeed under tarkin's leash because where ever is tarkin Vader is there too.

Or perhaps more importantly if Tarkin even remotely suspected that Leia was telling the truth (and he seemed pretty convinced she was in the previous scene) wouldn't he want to find out the moment the ships had investigated the system?
Meaning he would want a report from the taskforce itself and not relayed from a guy somewhere on the station picking up the message and walking into the room.
It's the Rebel's base after all (or so he thinks) and he wants to blow them to bits.
