I don't know why Cameron decided to put those scenes back in. The Special Edition would be fucking perfect if everything else about it were the same, but the scenes with the colonists remained out.

Now that is an idea for a nice fan edit, wouldn't be all that hard either.

I think it's been done already.

I was toying with the idea of using a few shots from the awful AVP2 to replace the duplicated alien shots during the sentry gun sequences (it's the only thing it's any good for).
