For me its Dumb and Dumber. You just can't beat these idiots and there complete lack of commen sense. Jim Carry and Jeff Danials are fantastic. Everything they say is funny. Lines like.

"His head fell off"
"That John Denvner is full of shit man"
"Samsonite, I was way off"
"You are in luck. Theres a town about 3 miles that way I am sure you will find two guys over there"
"I desperatly want to make love to a school boy"
"I fell off a jet way again"
"You know I guess there right senior citizens although slow and dangerous behind the wheel can still serve a purpose"
"I would never do anything to offend a man of your size"

It is obviously Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I could quote this movie forever - I could even recite it completly. I've seen it close to 80 times, and it gets funnier and funnier. And just look at my signature, and you'll see what is my favorite scene.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

MP's Life of Brian isn't bad either. You can't beat the "always look at the bright side of life" musical sequence at the end.

and getting back to Mel Brooks: anyone like the "Spaceball" movie? i think it is alright but not that funny...
"Last night, Darth Vader came down from planet Vulcan and told me that if I didn't take Lorraine out that he'd melt my brain."

Life of Brian is good, very good, but it can't beat "Holy Grail".

Spaceballs deserved a thread of its own! I just love Pizza the Hut, and Rick Moranis as a Vader-like villain.

I love MP's Life of Brian and The Holy Grail. Also dig on Cable Guy

However, for as long as I can remember, I have loved Ghostbusters and, even moreso, Real Genius.

those are very good French comedies but what do you think of more recent ones like 'le placard', 'le diner de cons' or 'asterix et obelix: mission cleopatre'? (i especially like the last one)

I'm not familiar with much French comedy, only the bastardised American versions.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.
