why am I misguided? just because I don't root for the cubs? I didn't grow up in Chicago. I have nothing aginst the Cubs it is just that I grew up near Philly.

I sorry I don't hate the Cubs. If the Phillies get eliminated maybe I might root for them, but I can't very well go against the home town team. In Philly if I did that I would be considered a trader and would be booed and shunned. We take team loyalty very seriously.

I'm teasing you, Warbler. Don't get miffed. It's a Cub fan riling a Phils fan. Nothing more, nothing less. Hence the after the "misguided" comment.

I wasn't born in Chicago either. I was born in upstate New York. And I've lived in Kentucky and Connecticut. I'm only a Cubs fan because of my wife's family. I was once a diehard Yankees fan. But I'm sick and tired of them and the fact that everyone would call me a fair weather fan despite me being a Yanks fan since 1985 (hardly fair weather). I was a freak for Don Mattingly. The guy was a God in my book. It's just not the same anymore. For the last several years, I've been rooting for the Cubs and Twins. I also dig on the Red Sox.

I'm pulling for a Cubs/Bosox World Series this year.

Cubs vs Redsoxs, the billygoat curse vs the curse the bambino. That would be a great series.

But not as great a series as one with the Phillies

While admittedly, the Cubs season started a bit slow, did anyone catch highlights of the Easter Sunday trouncing the Cubs put down on the Braves? 10-2. Kerry Wood tied a team record with 7 straight strikeouts and they nearly had three homeruns in a row if that third one wasn't stolen right above the wall (in all fairness, it was a beautiful nab).

The Reds have been shocking the hell out of me so far. They've been playing surprisingly well. Even Griffey.
