I don't want to go back and read it, but that is the really bad thread, isn't it?

That one is bad, but I think the Blues Bros. one is worse.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Was there actually a Blues Bros thread?

That one about the Blues Brothers isn't too bad... obsessive I agree, but I have seen much worse... on a site I use alot there was a guy who used to just post the most controversial topic he could imagine and then just sit back and watch the fireworks. I got into an arguement once with a few people about the existence of god. Man talk about sensitive issues... and that wasn't the worst one... amazing how upset people can get over one sentence written by someone they have never met (and I am not immune to that either). Anyway I've learned my lesson now... as a wise man once said, "Never discuss politics, sex, or religion"...

I don't know if it has been said before, but... Pink Floyd live at Pompeii deserved a better DVD edition. That director's cut is pure cr*p.

You mean, the "In the Flesh" tour? I don't like much of the solo works, I rather listen to the 67-77 period of the band.

Jeez, I'm reuniting two things I love here, Pink Floyd and Star Wars... Hey, how about suggesting GL to edit episode 3 in a way so that it would synch with dark side of the moon? Or putting Echoes (the song) as a soundtrack during lightsaber and space battles.

I trust you know about the "playing the Dark Side of the Moon CD while watching The Wizard of Oz" thing, ricarleite?

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Of course. If there's anything I know, besides SW, is Pink Floyd.

You know, I have never played that Pink Floyd CD while watching Wizard of Oz. I want to sit down and do that someday, mainly because I've heard it's such a strange experience and it would just be fun to say I've done it.

I suggest an even better experiment: listening to Echoes (the wonderful song from the album Meddle, my favorite song btw) synched with 2001's last 24 minutes. You start the music as soon as those words - I belive it's "Jupter and beyond infinite" or something like that - appear onscreen. The music synchs perfectly to the stargate sequence and to the "hotel room" scene, and it ends exactly the same time as the movie. A very psychedelic experience, I did it only once (I own the album, but I don't have a 2001 copy anymore), and it was awesome.

Oh man, the Echoes sync is the coolest!

That is actually how I got hooked on Pink Floyd.

The Wizard of Oz thing is truley amazing. Such coincidences! It's scary!
The scariest part of all is when they skip to the beat of 'Time' on the second play through!

My stance on revising fan edits.

Oh, no, a more psychedelic experience at the end of 2001? I would try it out if it wasn't for my severe phobia of that movie. Despite it's spectacular special effects, the movie scares the hell out of me, and I just don't get it. But that's happened everytime I've sat down to watch a Kubrick movie. I must be one of the few people on the face of the earth that doesn't like the filmmaking of Stanley Kubrick.

Now that I think about it, I wonder how Pink Floyd ever came up with the idea to sync an album to the Wizard of Oz?

i have also done this... in fact i have the clip on my computer set up with the music perfectly.... start the song when the title "Jupiter - and Beyond the Infinite" appears on your screen like ricarleite said. then just sit back and enjoy.... its creepy how well the two match up...

i particulary enjoy the guitar solo in the song... this is when he's sorda peaking out in the space ship... flying over (sorda looks like mountains) of all different colours... lol its awesome!

The frightening thing is, I was reading this thread and skipped to the end after Lord Peeler left, and I'm listening to DSotM right now. My friend insisted we try that Dark Side of the Rainbow thing. It is weird. I'll have to check this 2001 thing. I must say, this is the only forum I've been to where threads fall so far off topic yet its a good thing. I only complaint is that some of the things I'd like to respond to were posted monthes ago. It kind of takes the point out of it. Maybe I'll just stick to lerking.
