Just a run-of-the-mill piece about Carlos Beltran's progress, but there are a couple of funny lines in it. My favorite is the use of "VORK."
Missed out on a win from Verlander because I forgot to set my lineup this morning (did my other one, but got sidetracked, I guess...), but glad Lincecum's loss doesn't count. :p

Value Over Replacement Knee? (I had to find VORP to think of that)
Yep. :-)
Just scanned this funny little article I've had for many years (obviously):
May as well add this other one I scanned at the same time. This is what they would've worn next had they not moved to Colorado:
I like it! Very sharp.
I lose both Chase Utley and Placido Polanco to the DL and then I have to see a picture of that guy. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Don't forget the spectacular blown save by Lidge just a few minutes ago...
shut up.

Yep, I saved it all these years just to taunt you. Haha. ;)
Seriously though, did you see that thing with Carter and Williams shooting the breeze out at Mitch's place, fishing and reminiscing? I can't remember what show/special it was, but maybe it's on YouTube. They're friends, at least. :)

Now now, it's all in good fun.
well, at least the Reds self destructed in the 10th and the Phillies scored three runs and won the game 9-6.

I know, that is how I meant my "shut up" to be taken.
[allingoodfun]shut up[/allingoodfun] may have helped. Haha.
By the way, Lidge ended up with the win, which hurt me a bit in my epic struggle with Sluggo.
Oh, it is an epic struggle now!
Bwahaha!!!

Well, not only are we tied for first and are over 20 points ahead of third, check out how close we are in some of the categories...
HR - Sluggo +2
RBI - Tied
SB - Frink +1
AVG - Frink +.001
ERA - Sluggo +.06
Kuh-wazy!

true. I guess I just assumed that Frink would understand I wasn't being serious. But we all know what happens when you assume something ; )
I wasn't sure in this case because you are often serious Warb, especially when it comes to Philly. But no biggie.
bzzzzzzzzzzzbzzzzzzbzbbzzzzzzzzz!
yeah, I guess sometimes I am. But I usually don't allow sports to carry me away like that.
I'm NEVER taking Torii Hunter out of the line-up again.
#%$&*!#%*!!!
Sounds like someone who needs to make a trade ;-)
In all seriousness, there hasn't been a single trade yet and we're halfway through the year. I'm a bit surprised. Not too surprised, given that half the league is MIA, but still...
Who needs pitching?
It was really just a reference to the fact that I almost never have him on the bench, and for no real reason, I decided to shake things up because I had a few guys doing just as well. Of course - he promptly hits 2 HRs and drives in 7.
I'm reluctant to make a trade because I'm not hurting yet. That said, I can't break out of 4th either. I know we're just at the break, but I'll need to be a buyer soon. Mulling over my options.
Don't get me wrong, I knew what you meant and that it had nothing to do with making a trade. I'm just trying to inject some drama :-)
btw, Ryan Franklin game me a great line last night - 1/3 IP, 6 H, 6 R, to complete a spectacular meltdown against the Rockies. Colorado scored 9 in the 9th to win 12-9!
For the record, Franklin's line equates to a 162.00 ERA and an 18.00 WHIP. Good times!
I somehow missed putting Nolasco in for his win tonight. B'oh! I'm thinking he was a late addition or something, cuz I would've noticed if he was starting when I set my lineup around noon or so.
