I'm not going to veer off into defend why FE omitted the purist edition, but please note that until somewhat recently (within the last year or so) Adywans ANH: Revisited wasn't even considered a true fanedit proper.  It was placed in the "Special Edition" category (he even won special edition of the year award for it).  Once FE was reorganized, including the creation of a sister site specifically for "Special Editions" and Preservations, ANH: Revisited was moved to the "True Fanedits" category because it was such a significant creation, even if it could potentially go either way (meaning is it a "true fanedit" in the sense that it alters the story, or a "special edition" more so because it is primarily effects enhancements, and is it different enough that Lucas isn't going to crash our party).

A lot has changed there since Adywan released ANH: Revisited.  The site was vastly reorganized, hosting services were changed, the owner (boon23) retired, and the former staff also stepped down to let a fresh crew take it.

As I mentioned before, and Frink pointed out - there is a new staff.  Maybe they feel differently about it.  But, your arguments here are rather moot. You'd do much better stating why you think it is "quite wrong" to the new staff at FE.  And if that doesn't do you any good, you could of course start your own fanedits site and deal with it ;)
