tehparadox. I mentioned it 3 posts up. ;)

Yeah, but that was six days ago.  Kids today need instant gratification! ;-)

Try Demonoid?

Any have an invite to Demonoid? Apparently you have to register now. :(

I do not fear the Dark Side as you do.

I found the torrent at Demonoid, but it was pretty much dead.  I am receiving it via JDownloader now so all is good.  :)

I just watched this on my 1080p TV upconverted by my Blu-ray player.  This is easily the best damn print of this film to date.  I will no longer watch any "official" garbage of TESB, thanks to this!  I can see Veers' ear hair!

Again, hat's off to Adywan!  I can only imagine what TESB:R will look and sound like!

I picked this up from the torrents over the past few days and it's a real beauty. It's amazing to see this film as it should be seen - fully restored and unaltered. Can anyone confirm the file size though - I just want to make sure it hasn't been modified from the original. For some reason it had CSS protection when I tried to burn it. I got around it though. It came in at 3.79 GB. Sound right?

The iso file I have is 3.96gb in size. Hmmmm.

"the torrents" ?

If you got the one whose tracker uses a green imp mascot, then you'll have almost-but-not-quite the same thing as AvP put on teh paradox.
VOB files are exactly the same.
IFO files are different because some "fuckwit" changed 'em....

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

And this is why i hate torrents. The hassle i had with some of my releases because some idiot messed about with the original file

That file does seem undersized. Even with some dick messing with the IFO's , which are only a few kb's in size, the file should be 3.96GB, both with or without the optional audio fix. And there should be no CSS protection on it at all. I would suggest getting the version AvP uploaded over at tehparadox

Thanks for info on the file size. I was afraid of that, which is why I'm not a huge torrent fan either. Especially since this version of ESB is more important to me than any official Lucasfilm release since the remastered THX widescreen VHS tapes.

I also figured there was no way that Adywan used CSS on the file, which keyed into the fact it was modded in some way. I had to save the file as an image, mount it, re-rip it to get a new TS folder and then finally burn it. It was worth it to see the work and it didn't take long, but I'm going to get the full file from AvP as recommended. This is too important not to have the best format possible.

I'm currently working on this using jdownloader - does anyone have the individual RS links they could PM to me? I don't remember seeing any in this thread or in AvP's over on tehparadox - only seems to have one unless I'm missing something.

Thanks!

The file on tehparadox is a dlc file. once you have download this then load it up into jdownloader and this dlc file contains all the links you'll need. Once its loaded just click on "continue with all" and it will begin the download

Thanks for the info guys - I think that did it! It was the whole add container step that I was missing. Seems to be working now - at least it's counting down now.

Only got a chance to sample the beginning of this edit tonight. But, it looks beautiful.

Thanks Adywan for working this reconstruction up.

Will these edits fit on a dual layer DVD, so I can play them on my Blu-ray player?

Finally watched all of the reconstruction. Simply beautiful.

I may redo my burn. The only thing I saw of any slight glitch was in the carbon freezing room. On the right side of the screen some of the flooring with the orange lighting looked like it had some noise. But I doubt it was from Adywan's edit. Either my burn or my player.

Thanks again Adywan for a really fun trip down memory lane,

Yeah, memory lane is where I prefer to be when it comes to Empire. The Special Edition ain't so special...

Are you maybe getting this mixed up with the AVCHDs? This one edit is just a DVD-5 (single layer) that will play on any DVD player. ;) No dual layer necessary.

I am mixed up, sorry about that!

Ady also said earlier in the thread that this wasn't intended to be a full-on restoration of the theatrical cut, just a close approximation.  He just wanted to restore the obvious changes from the SE/'04 disc.  Everything you mentioned is all little stuff.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.
