I will be connecting my LD player to my Sony digital cam-corder, which has a video pass-through and can digitize the signal on the fly. After that, I will go back and digitally record the PCM soundtrack through my optical input, which I will then remix into a DD 5.1 signal (better separation and less space.) I may also make a PCM set, if I can squeeze the audio and video onto one 4.7 DVDR.

I will be using the "Faces" set for the audio and video, but I will also make an "extras" disc with the supplements from the Def. Col. set. I am also going to copy the commentary track - I am waiting for DVD-Lab Pro to come out next month, which will allow me to add more than one soundtrack. DVD-Lab Pro will also allow seamless branching, so I might attempt to add the CG Yavin battle to ANH. Chances are there won't be enough room, so I'll have to make two versions....but that's fine by me.

If you have any specific questions, I have dozens of links regarding various technical aspects of this procedure (I've been studying up for quite some time, and my LD player should be fixed by next week. )
