From SW Insider there is an interesting dialogue between the three characters. I dont know if there was originally there or what.
MACE: You are under arrest, My lord
PALPS: Anakin! I told you it would come to this! I was right. The Jedi are taking over!
MACE: You old fool. THe oppression of the sith will never return.Your plot to retain the control of the republic is over. You've lost
PALPS: No no no you will die!

PALPS: He is a traitor Anakin!
MACE: He's the traitor! Stop him!
PALPS: Come to your senses, boy.. The Jedi are in revolt! The will betray you, just as they betrayed me. You are not one of them,Anakin. Dont let him kill me! I am your pathway to power. I have the power to save the one you love. You must choose! You must stop him!
MACE: Dont listen to him,Anakin
PALPS: Help me!Dont let him kill me! i cant hold any longer...

PALPS: I cant... i give up. Help me. I am weak.I am too weak. Dont kill me.. I give up. Im dying.. i cant hold any longer..
MACE: You sith disease! Im going to end this once and for all..
ANIE: I cant kill him.. Master, he must stand trial!
MACE: He has too much control of the senate and the courts. He is to dangerous to be kept alive!
PALPS: Im too weak.. Dont kill him please..
ANIE: Its not the jedi way.. He MUST live!
The rest is the same..

As you can see most of the "dirty" lines of death and murder are gone. having these or something similar it might get the tension and drama back.
Plus i like how the fool and disease lines are in. Maybe damn fool idealistic crusade? :)
Also noticeable how often the name anakin is being told.. weird.
