This is actually the line I struggled with most in writing the crawl as it sounds a bit clunky. It's still a work in progress and a loooong way to being finalised, but seceded means to seperate from.

My reasoning was so that it would be clear that they were part of the republic previously.

I'll probably remove the "seceded from and" so that it just reads "several thousand star systems have declared their intentions to overthrow the republic"

SSWR: I like what you've done with that video. I'm surprised I haven't seen it before. I like how you've transitioned straight from one love scene to another :)

I'll have a look at what I can do to improve the scene. That is if I'm even keeping it...
