Adywan's ESB edit: Suggestion Terminal — Page 5

The RotJ:R thread will be a lot more organized.  Ady and I are supposed to coordinate so that he has first post with basic news and I'll take a couple posts for suggestions, actual changes, and posted preview images.  All news in one place on one page.

Yes, that would be a good way to start the next instalment to keep track of things.  Good luck with that as It's bound to turn into as big a monster as 'Empire:R' has!  :)

This one I'm doing is just a basic 'catch-up' to keep me right.

I hope the shot of Luke watching the Falcon depart Hoth can be fixed.  The timing of Luke's head panning and the placement of the ship do not match.

Already been fixed, it can be seen in one of the clips Ady has posted (that or the last trailer).

Hey, it's no biggie - it's hard to keep track of what's been fixed and what hasn't at this stage!

What's the debate regarding Boba Fett's voice; shouldn't it go back to the original 1980 version?  Is this a continuity debate?

Can you trust him?  No, but he has no love for the Empire, I can tell you that.

I don't see how it's up for debate, but apparently it is.  Ady has said he's going back to the 1980 voice, which I agree with, but many feel that since he's a clone, he should sound the same as Jango, who has a Kiwi accent.

But accents aren't genetic, they're learned, and Boba has had a couple decades to shed it.  My best friend's mom is from Germany, and has only been living in the US for 20 years.  I've known her for 13, and I clearly have heard a difference between her thick 1997 accent and her almost nonexistent 2010 accent.  If you're immersed in a different accent for long enough, yours will change.

So I agree with Ady - Boba's voice should go back to its 1980 version.  It's also more menacing than Temuera Morrison's badly-read 2004 overdub.

Will the "jogging" Star Destroyer at the beginning be fixed?  As the camera pans with the probe droid and the Star Destroyer disappears in the top right of the frame, it shifts in a manner that is not condusive to the starfield or the camera movement.  That has always bugged me.

To me Boba's voice makes sense either way. I can accept the clone argument or that it's simply a different learned accent or voice modulator.

With that in mind I'd just go with what sounds better...which to me was the original voice that AdY is thankfully restoring.

Here's the first 2 minutes of ESB:R as it stood 2 years ago. As you can see the stardestroyer movement has been changed

Unless it's some kind of issue with the YouTube compression, the Star Destroyer's tail still jogs as it moves out of frame.

Or, I guess I should say the stars behind it jog.

Is it not sad that in this time, we are more surprised by acts of love than acts of hate?

Ady, could you consider replacing the rotating camera movement when we fist see Hoth from space with a still camera and making the planet rotate on its own axis? I don't know how, everytime I see the trailer, I found something annoying when my eyes follow the probe through deep space in a whirl, and suddenly, with the same camera movement, a huge planet is filling my screen...I don't have the sensation that probe has travelled millions of miles, because of the same rotating camera movement. Does anyone feel the same?

Don't misunderstand me, Ady, I know it's your beautiful work and you have the last word, I am perfectly aware of that... just this humble SW fan throwing in some consideratios ;)

I didn't think the probe was travelling millions of miles.  I thought the Star Destroyer parked in orbit around Hoth, dropped the probe droid(s) off, then left to drop more droids off somewhere else.

True. Well, the point aren't the miles travelled, but the same rotating movement of the camera in two or three consecutive scenes... what I am asking if it's not too much rotation, and would be better to see Hoth framed and only some spinning-on-its-own-axis movement (we all know it's the same probe whirling deep into space that later arrives to Hoth, no need of a "Ric Olie camera movement" to show that ;P)

PS: sorry if I don't make myself very clear, but English is not my mother tongue :)
