Also, Princess Bride.  We were trying to think of movies we had that the kids would want to watch.  My oldest is 7 and he has two younger sisters (5 and 3) and we thought it might be a good movie for the crew.  (Rushmore (1) doesn't really get factored into these things).

My kids' major problem is attention span.  I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not, but they have a hard time sitting still for 1.5 - 2 hours and just watching a movie.  Normally they watch things upstairs on a smallish TV and they play with their toys (and fight!) while something they've seen 100 times rolls on in the background.  But if it's a movie they've never seen before, they get to watch it in the basement on the 128"ish projection screen in total darkness.  They really like that for the first 45 minutes or so, but then they want to get down on the floor and roll around and play.  And switch seats every 2 minutes.  Either they're too creative to sit still for that long... (that's good!) or they're too impatient (that's bad!) or they contain potassium sorbate. (.... That's bad.)  Can I go now?

Back to the Princess Bride.  I think it was still a little too far over their heads, but they seemed to like it anyways.  I liked watching it on the bigscreen because I could pick out all of the 80s toys in Kevin (or whatever his name is in this movie)'s room.  Lots of He-Man, some She-Ra (I would make fun of a boy having She-Ra toys, but I know them because I had all of the same ones (they were just extra villains for He-Man to fight, so STEP OFF!)))))  And Captain America and others I've already forgotten.  Oh yeah, a Burger Kind Empire Strikes Back Glass too.

A good time was had by all.
