The only true blade runner complete score without dialogue or sound effects is the 2019 version (and one other version currently on ebay). Both were ripped from the 5:1 surround sound by a genious from the Bronx. You will not get anything better than this at this time. Forget any other version. I MEAN ANY OTHER VERSIONS. 2019 version is the most pure, noiseless and dialogueless version you will get. I am a person who bought it. I really do want the version advertised on this site but I have lost faith. Can we have a few samples via rapidsare etc? Please?

Nas.

Hi Plimp,

I have a bought copy of the "2019" Edition and have spoken with one of the contributors to it. It is a great soundtrack with much that is fresh. Unfortunately, though, only 5 tracks out of the 19 are lossless. the other 17 are only mp3s.

I apologise for being impolite earlier about this current (?) project. Frustration showing it's ugly face :-)

Love Zhora.

Hi Zhora!

I would really love to hear those tracks!...any chance you could upload them to rapidshare or another hosting site please.

My rant was also born of frustration, 2 years + seems like a long time to make a music compilation. I don't know what's going on in Focuspuller's life though, so who am i to judge.

Hi Spiderwalk,

The 2019 Edition is available to download from the Blade Runner Soundtracks group. The links are in a text file in the Files section. There are lots of other BR soundtracks to download in the messages.

Here is the link to that most excellent BR site :-)

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/bladerunner_soundtrack

Steven has lots of BR related tracks in his topic

Re: BR music and other music that fans may be interested to hear.

There are about 300 mp3s in that topic alone :-)

I would agree with the level of frustration. This is proving a long time to wait with no samples of the completed tracks being offered. I do not agree that the 2019 is definitive. There are a huge variety of sources out there and Focuspuller is attempting to use everything out there to restore the tracks to what they were when Vangelis recorded them. I may disagree with him on several editing points and several comments he has made, but he is attempting to do something truly unique. I've done a fair share of audio editing for myself and to do it right it requires a lot of time. It can take an hour to properly line up, time, and digitally splice two segments together so that only an expert can hear the splice. It's hard work. When you have a job and a new child, and a life outside of your Bladerunner addiction, it can be hard to find the time to work on those edits and fulfill all your commitments. I'm not really expecting much progress, but Focuspuller did indicate that he would try to release some samples, but that has been ages ago. Some of the more difficult ones that are completed would be the ones I'd want to hear first.

I just want to hear 'Deckard Enters Sebastian's Building' or any cat howl cues, and I would definitely welcome any sort of rough "workprint" copy of this collection before it is finalized.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

First of all i would like to thank Zhora for pointing me in the right direction to download the 2019 edition, cheers!

This was a bit of a revelation to me as i've been working on my dream blade runner soundtrack for a while now.

The 2019 edition is not perfect though, some major editing work was required and the volume levels are all over the place but in essence what i needed to make a satisfying BR soundtrack was all there.

With a week or so editing & mixing the 2019 tracks and many many weeks working on the rest, it's finally done.

And now my friends i thought i would share it with you....call it a stop gap till Focuspuller finishes his project.

All tracks are in chronological order as they appear in the film, disc 01 and half of disc 02 is the main soundtrack, the rest is made up of outtakes and bonus tracks.

It's worth noting that there is virtually no sound effects or any dialog in the whole mix.

The files are encoded with Lame Cbr @320, i have also included my custom artwork.

You can download it from here:

Enjoy!

Thanks a lot Spiderwalk!

Sounds pretty good so far!

(and knowing it's based off of the excellent 2019 edition makes it even better!)

:-)

As for Focuspuller, I hope everything is find with you and yours and that you will someday finally be able to amaze us with that ultimate edition we have all been waiting for since the film's release almost 30 years ago now...!

Good luck to you too!

Spiderwalk, very, very nice! damn that sounds great and the artwork is awesome, doesn't matter to me now if the other set, that has been in the works forever, even comes to pass now.

GREAT job!

Hey Spiderwalk.  I'm currently downloading your files to give them a listen.  Can't wait!!  And Focuspuller, hope all is well, still patiently waiting on yours.  "All good things to those who wait."

Spiderwalk, reading some of the reply's regarding your score sounds very nice! I'm currently working on one myself. But I'm going in the other direction, as I could say.  I'm putting together more of the "noise" and less music.  I want to take the sounds to make you feel like your in the city. I do like the score Esper did: Los Angeles November 2019. But I'm taking it farther, as it will be a 2 CD set. More of the street noises and Spinners flying by. I call it Blade Runner: Ambience. I have the art made for the CD case and the picture CD's. I'll have to get them for show.

Almost done downloading yours.

This is so awesome, you did a great job!

You forgot to include track 21 - "Tears in the Rain".

Also on track 19 - "Deckard Enters The Bradbury". I take it the deep swooshing in the background you tried to remove but it was too heavy? Just curious what your thoughts are on that track.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, glad you like it!

@ethanwa Tears In Rain is definitely included, i tested the rar files before uploading to rapidshare. Mabe you need to update your winrar.

My thoughts on the swooshing, it's been implied by various sources that Vangelis created alot of the sound effects for Blade Runner. If this is true those sounds are part of the track, and yes it's impossible to remove it.

Thanks. Would you say, in your opinion, that the tracks you have here are the closest that anyone currently has gotten to an exact score without sound effects?

Do you feel that there is anything missing from what you have done? What do you wish you could have done better?

First of all the links are gone :-(

I guess i p***ed off the mod(s), that's a shame as we're all fans here trying to help each other out. If i stepped on someone's toes i apologize....not much more i can say.

It's all speculative as to whether it's the closest anyone's got to a soundtrack with no effects, i made it for myself and it turned out ok, so i thought i would share it.

The only small thing that's missing is the short Deckard at the piano (thinking of Rachel) piece, i love that cue but there's no clean source anywhere.

Speaking of which i purposely left out the unicorn dream music that killed that beautiful scene also the ambiguity of Deckard.

If It ain't broke, don't fix it, Richard Kelly made the same mistake with Donnie Darko the director's cut.

Spiderwalk, just have people PM you for the links, this is a great set, very nice!

Anyone wanting to download my mix the links are now up on the final fantasy shrine forum (The Blade Runner Soundtrack Ultimate Thread).

This was not my decision but Kirkenshrir's, he took that choice away from me.

I had been considering the FF forums but ultimately i think i would have posted it on the blade runner soundtracks group forum, because that's where i acquired the 2019 copy.

Sorry about going over your head with this, it just seemed like it was bound to end up there at some point or another, considering the massive (and often redundant) selection of BR soundtacks they've put together... I've downloaded my copy of the 2019 edition (and a few more) from them since it was mentioned here one or two weeks ago so it seemed like a logical step. The fact that THIS site had the links taken down just made me jump the gun while the RS links were still valid. I'm sorry if you took offense. :-(
