Not to bring bad luck, but I have an important question for Ady - do you have any sort of backup? External drive, friends PC etc. Something that stores copies of the TESB:R project, whether if an accident happens with your PC, or you just mess something during editing?

As for the release date... oh, well - May 2011 sound better than December, anyway! Like a true Star Wars premier. And something to cheer me up while everyone is going to see (yet another) horrible Bay-Transformers movie...

I seem to remember him saying something about having 2 backups. I could be wrong (but I know he mentioned at least one)

And in my experience, there's no such thing as luck :P

Problem solved.

Very rarely do I laugh out loud when reading, but LOL!

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

If near photographic memory serves... Ady backs up his work weekly. =D

To explain further, Doctor Who's phone booth time machine is much bigger on the inside than the outside. So Bingo put a console from Doctor Who in Leia's apartment to help explain why the inside doesn't match the outside.

Doctor Who's phone booth time machine

:-O You wouldn't be confusing Doctor Who with Bill & Ted, now would you? Phone booth indeed... pah! ;)

And while I'm being picky, Doctor Who is the name of the show, not the guy - he's just The Doctor. Except for that one time when they called him Doctor Who. But that didn't happen. And except for when they call him that in the credits, but that doesn't count either. So that's nice and clear.

Even though I've never seen the show, I know all these things, I just figured I would explain it to someone who obviously wouldn't know that.

I'm still not sure what a "Police Box" is anyway, except that The Doctor's TARDIS takes the shape of one.

WOTAN probably made reference to Doctor Who because it searched the newspaper articles regarding a BBC television show which started around the time of the assassination of Kennedy and the Shoreditch Dalek Invasion.

It just wanted copies of the video tapes which explains why so many of Hartnell's stories are missing.

Anyway my last post on this diversion on the path.

It's like a phonebooth and mini-office for cops without radios.

When I made it to London a few years back, I jokingly told some other young people at a pub that I had been hoping to see all the police boxes.

They had no idea what I was talking about. I told them I was joking, and just making a Doctor Who refrence, and they knew his time machine was like a phonebooth, but didn't know what a police box was. Those things have been mostly out of use since the 1970s.

Edinburgh is full of them (different design though) but there are a couple in Glasgow (sorry this time it really is the last time).

On a similar note, you did fix Dagobah's transparency towards its southern pole as Luke leaves, right?

Ady will you incorporate something like this to some of luke's poor fly bys?

Nice cutscene, Angel!

But S-foils should be in "peace position" all the way, shouldn't they? (mostly when travelling through hyperspace)

Well yes. i still like the flyby camera movement. :)

Since you mention that 005 does anyone else thinks that when we cut from yoda to xwing planet flyby the cut is a bit hard?

At least visually we could see Xwing leaves the atmosphere and not already be on the half way. and not the way that it sounds.(note the scene and you will see that the ship is like popping up. Stylistically and only that could be a matter)

That will smooth the cut keeping the same time/speed

I was always under the impression that "attack position" was necessary for a hyperspace jump, but I could easily be wrong.

From the Wookieepedia:

(...)The foils on each side locked in place flush against each other; during combat, however, the foils were folded out to increase the spread coverage of the laser cannons mounted at the tips of the foils. This gave the craft its distinctive "X"-like appearance when viewed from the front or rear. The cannons on some earlier models could not be fired with the S-foils in locked position, perhaps as a safety feature. During hyperspace travel, the S-foils remained locked to conserve energy.

The S-Foils thing is pretty much on screen (they only get deployed in combat situations).

But the idea of a cleaner approach shot is still a firm one.

That's a great fly-by shot! As already said, maybe closed s-foils would be more accurate, and at least in my opinion look better when just cruising by, but I would love to see this in HD.

Hey Ady,

I was wondering: When Luke is training with Yoda on his back, when the shot with the line "You will know, when you're calm, at peace...passive." is up, could you give Yoda's left hand some 'articulation'?

(Frank Oz puppeteered his right hand and mouth, so the left was just sort of stuck there). It doesn't need to be big, just some grabbing-like motion so it doesn't seem so dead-ish. I know this can easily be achieved in After effects.

LOL, just noticed my previous post was put here at 11.38.

(Oh, and I also do  not mind at all that the release date has been pushed back. I know most artists suffer for their art, but don't go overboard ;-))

Agreed.  There's a difference between suffering for your art and suffering because of your art.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.
