I'll see that and I'll raise you "Becket."

(doing a Peter O'Toole/Henry II marathon. Gonna do "Lion in Winter" tommorrow!)

I've been meaning to see Becket.   As for doing a Peter O'Toole/Henry II marathon,  I believe there are only 2 movies in which Peter O'Toole played Henry II.   I can't consider watching 2 movies to be a marathon.   You need at least 3 or 4 movies to make a marathon.    Are there other movies about Henry II.?

Witchfinder General paints Oliver with more warts, great film too if not a little depressing.

Witchfinder General?  I've never heard of it.   I'm putting this on my must-watch list.

It was released in America under the dumb name The Conquerer Worm to try to and link it to the Roger Corman 's Poe cycle because of Vincent Price having a starring role (it's one of his best performances totally understated, against type and utterly creepy) but it's very, very grim viewing. It will stay with you long after watching it in a way that other films of that type and that era do not.

I don't know if it has been released yet on BBC Audio but Radio 4 did a very good play based on the making of the film called Vincent Price and The Horror of The English Blood Beast.
