Thanks. I have been reluctant to make any major changes because I've been holding - a no need to over-think it sort of thing.
My opinion, especially given all the dead teams, is that this is a very shallow league for a 10-team league. Shallow leagues are those that have very deep free agent pools, which is counter-intuitive. Perhaps it refers to the team rosters being shallow. Anyway, there are LOTS of good free agents in our league, so I never hesitate to cut my back-end players to take a shot on a current hot streak.
It occasionally backfires (as it might with my release of Jose Lopez) but usually I'm the better for it. Check out this list of players I have now that I did not draft (with current yahoo rank in parenthesis)
C - Olivo (118)
1B, 2B, 3B- Prado (43)
OF - Heyward (34)
2B, 3B - McGhee (38)
1B - Ortiz (119)
SP - Garcia (33)
RP - Rauch (177)
RP - Dotel (184)
SP - Price (21)
SP - Strasburg (-) (ML debut June 8)
Repeat - I didn't draft any of these guys. That's nearly 50% of my roster. In a 10-team league, I'd much rather make too many moves than too few moves.
