Mets are kind of a punchline in the same sense as the Toronto Blue Jays. Here's a Blue Jays example:
Ah, the birds of spring:
The swallow-- Tweet, tweet...
The robin-- Tweet, tweet...
The Blue Jay-- Hack, hack, choke, hack!
