LTK isn't that bad, but it is way too late 80's action and Miami Vice influenced. After the long hiatus the Brosnan films had no lasting appeal to them. They were too weak for what the time demanded. GE and TWINE are the only ones with good story elements, but overall they lacked impact. You have to go back to The Living Daylights to see classic Bond elements.
Indy should never be in the 1950's. He exists as a 1930's escapist adventure. That damn fridge was the moment where you knew that this film was beyond any and all saving. It would have been better if Willie had just screamed continuously for two hours.
