I liked thirteenth floor but agree it could have been a lot better.
last I saw was 'The thing from another world' [1951]
Starts well but the monster is pretty cheesy. the music was also pretty bad - in that it's speaker shattering load when certain things happen - like you see the monster, yet non existent in other places.
