POOR KENDRY MORALES!
He hits a walk-off game winning grand slam in the 10th (his first career GS), then when he gets to homeplate, he is greeted by his team. He jumps into the air and then...they call the trainers cuz something is wrong. The crowd goes from cheering like crazy to silence. They just went to commercial and he's still sitting on the ground with his team around him.
Back from commercials and he's still down. Looks like a left ankle injury, maybe. The cart is there to bring him off the field. They would probably be going to another show by now, but they're staying with it. Ok, done now.
Whoever has Morales, hope for the best!
Oh, and Torii Hunter got hit in the hand earlier in the game! :(

Um...don't know what to say. I'm only trying to help. You are welcome to ignore any of my advice, of course. I'm not perfect (but I am in 1st :P).
I'm not blaming your advice, I'm blaming what you changes you made on those other teams whose owners weren't responding to your emails.
Which, again, wouldn't have had to be done if you hadn't insisted on 10 teams... *winkwinknudgenudgesaynomore* If we do this again next season, I'm hoping you'll relax your stance in that regard a little. ;)

I wasn't going to say anything, but since you broached the subject; I'm not exactly digging the fact that I went from second place to fourth the same week Frink started ghost-managing several teams.

Ok, I am nothing if not a servant of the people. And by "the people," I mean the three of you in the league who are paying attention ;-)
I have previously made my beliefs clear:
1) Better to have 10 teams with a few ghosts, because there are wayyyy to many good free agents available with less teams. Hell, I think there are too many good free agents available now, I would pick up more if I could find roster spots.
2) I think it is hard to judge the effect of making moves for the ghost teams in such a short time frame.
Regardless, as I said, I'm a servant of the people. So vote now: shall I continue to make moves for other teams, or take a hands off approach and let the chips fall where they may?
Either way is fine with me, and I will do whatever the majority votes. I will also let the rest of the league know what is decided (not that they will notice).
And one more thing. I've been trying not to name names, but there are a few people in the league who spend plenty of time (and participation) in all other aspects of ot.com and who don't bother even responding to my PM's about the league. And frankly, I don't get it. Why join up if you aren't interested, especially if you are someone who voluntarily joined up and seemed genuinely interested in the league, without me having to twist your arm?
What's the deal, vfp and Davnes?
Oh by the way. The best thing is to have a pitcher on your favorite team pitch a perfect game. If you can't have that, the next best thing is to have a pitcher on your fantasy team pitch a perfect game.

I'm gonna seem like a broken record, but...
I respect your view about league size, but still don't see what the big deal is. (especially as there are several that obviously don't care about it after all, which is creating problems with no precise way to know what the outcome will be) We have a few really good guys with a few iffy guys. In my smaller league, it's still the same thing. (you should've seen how half asleep my supposedly awesome hitters were the first month!) Anything can happen, but for the most part, they're progressing about as expected. Plus, each of the 5 guys is playing every day and paying attention. I really don't see how free agents matter. Every team has injuries or loafers, every team picks up free agents. Our free agents over there are way better than the ones available here, obviously. (Vladi, for example) A team loaded with superstars or a team of iffies...if they progress at the same rate, it doesn't really matter. It's a much tighter and more interesting race over there, too.
I think I asked before, but was there a way for you to delete or shut down teams somehow after the draft? I wish they could all be deleted and their players either be made available (with pickups reviewable by the league) or just make it so they can't play and it would be as if none of their guys existed.
The only way it can truly work the way it should is if you take over every non-playing team and set their lineups day by day, if posssible. I'd be for that, but then...what about their DLs and such? Take free agents away we could've picked? :p

I can't delete teams after the draft. I can shut them down by moving all their players to the bench but don't like the idea of doing so.
We're going to just have to disagree on the availability of free agents. There is no way I'm just cutting all those players loose. The most I'm willing to do is just let the teams run the rest of the year with their current rosters, for better or worse. I'm certainly not going to spend the rest of the year running 5 teams :p
If you guys are frustrated that inactive teams are beating you, I feel your pain. And I'm willing to stop making moves for them. But you should spend more energy on your own teams. There are plenty of moves you can make (both within your existing roster and with free agents) to improve your standing.
In shallow leagues like this one (where there is plenty of talent available in the free agent list) you should never be afraid to cut your worst players and take a chance on someone hot, because there are always other players you can replace them with if they cool off.
Anyway, 1 vote recorded for ignoring the ghost teams.
By the way Ripplin, you should challenge yourself a little more. The less teams in the league, the easier the league is. Sorry if you disagree with me but you're in the extreme minority on this one. Just read some articles on fantasy baseball where they talk about shallow and deep free agent pools. In a small league, injuries and busts only really hurt if they strike your best few players. In big leagues, every injury or bust has the potential to be a death sentence. 10 teams is widely considered to be the minimum for a reasonably challenging league. 12 teams are just as common, and I've played in 14 team leagues before. You really have to know your stuff - anyone can pick Albert Pujols, but it takes knowledge to grab a guy like Ben Zobrist BEFORE he takes off.

I have him in my other league. He was my sixth pick. Fairly happy with him so far. I wish I'd've picked Mark Reynolds for this league, but I didn't think about what stats are counted. ;)

You didn't have to drop DeRosa to pick up Wilson. You get 6 bench players and players in your 3 DL spots don't count against your limit. I'll change it so you have both DeRosa and Wilson if you want. You can keep DeRosa in an DL spot as long as you want, but if you want to activate him (once he's off the DL) you'll have to drop another player first.
By the way, you don't have to add/drop players to be active. At a minimum you should be checking in on your roster every day or two and making sure your players are all playing, and moving them to the bench (or DL) if they get hurt.
I check my roster every morning when I can. It takes 5 minutes. I make sure any starters that are pitching that day are in my starting lineup, unless I don't like the matchup. You can tell the starters that are pitching that day because they'll have a ^ by their opponent for that day. I have 6 or 7 batters I play every day, and then 1 or 2 that I rotate in and out of the lineup depending on how hot they are lately, who is the pitcher they face that day, if they suck on the road or against lefties, and so on. It sounds complicated but once you figure out a strategy, it really only takes a few minutes.
