How would you have done the Prequel Trilogy?

Author
Time

I feel Anakin should've been introduced as a teenager and it should've been the start of the clone wars. The film should end with an army of Jedi taking out the droids.

Ep 2 should've introduced an army of sith and this is why the Jedi resort to using clones. No Kamino bullshit and Darth Maul should have survived. Qui-Gon should also have survived until Episode 2. In the end of Episode 2, Maul is killed and another sith assumes second in command.

In Episode 3, the second in command guy (who is BRIEFLY) introduced in Episode 1 should be killed at the begining, swapping him for Dooku. Grievous should be Maul rebuilt. In the end, Anakin should send an army of sith to the jedi temple. Hears that need reinforcements and arrives with the clones. He kills everyone. First the Jedi and then the Surviving sith because the emp said they're too week.

The Sith Vs Jedi should be a lot like the Old Republic trailer that was released and we should see Anakin killing everyone.

Anakin should have been Joaquin Phoenix, no Jar Jar or at least his voice should have been low and he should not have been stupid or have had bad grammar.

Anakin should not have built 3PO and Owen should be introduced in Episode 1 and he should be jealous that Anakin can leave but he can't.

Yoda should have looked like Yoda did in ESB. Him as a CGI is fine, otherwise too many CG aliens.

No (battle)droids.

No Darth Maul.

No Qui Gon.

No Grievous.

Especially no Dooku.

Yes older Anakin.  Yes, Army of Sith.  Yes Old Republic Trailer (minus the twirling).  More "fall of Anakin", more space battles.  More "war."  More "aimed at the kid in 30 year olds" less "aimed at the kids of 30 year olds."

Episode 1:

Anakin would be older and there would be no medichlorines.

Episode II:

re-write the love scenes,

Make it so that the clones were made BY THE REPUBLIC and not a SITH so that Yoda's decision to use them wouldn't be so assinine.

Episode III:

Anakin, once he pledges himself to Palpatine, is sent after the most powerful Jedi to kill, and not to the Temple to slaughter defenseless children in cold blood.

Padme would not die, and Kiera Knightley would reprise her role as Sabe in order to fake Padme's death.

the last part of the film would focus on Padme struggling with having to give up Luke and facing the prospect of being a single mother constantly on the run.

I think the biggest problem with the PT can be summed up as "WWTMI" -- way, way too much information.  There is just no mystery at all.  Star Wars was a simple movie, but it had some mystery in it.  If they had just made Anakin nice, like ObiWan, and have some cool personal interplay and battles like in the OT, without getting all complicated about exactly HOW Anakin turned, the first two movies could have been fine. Then, in Ep.3, all we really needed were a couple of hints, and Anakin disappearing for a while, and then one of their enemies turning out to be him, and we could all sit in wonder at how the dark side of the force can lure you unsuspecting if you're not careful.  As it is, we got a zillion details, and I still have no idea what the hell happened and what it had to do with the dark side of the force "seducing" Anakin - I think I'd rather just wonder, in fear, at how a nice guy could go bad.  As it was, a bad guy got worse.

Jar-Jar should have been the first individual to realize the Palpy-Sidious connection, and Anakin/Vader's first Dark Side action should have been to kill Jar-Jar before he gets the info to the Senate.

There is alot of truth to this post, as I believe the Prequels are more like a documentary then a movie.  I believe Lucas took the prequels too 'literally' when he was writing them, as he felt like he couldn't take the story anyway other from point A to point B.  Especially Episode III:  OK, Anakin turns, then he kills the jedi, then he fights Obiwan, then he is put in armor, then the kids are sent to their foster parents, THE END!  When Lucas did try to throw a wrench into the story, he made it worse:  Let me have Owen own C3PO for 10 years!  Let me have Padme die of childbirth!  Let me have R2 fly and be this mobile droid!

The ironic thing is Episode I is the one movie that isn't point A to point B to point C like Episode II & III.  It is almost like Lucas took the criticism of Jar Jar and then totally went the other way he wanted the trilogy to go after that!

Make the films faithful to Lucas's backstory as it was when he finished the original trilogy, and faithful to the original spirit of star wars. So Anakin would probably be teens or adult when he's discovered (by Kenobi!) and in his 30s or 40s when he turns dark. I bet the battle droid nonsense was invented by Lucas in the 90s to make his films more kid-friendly (ie toothless, like Han shooting second), so dump that. The Jedi would have been less of a bunch of idiots had Lucas made the films faithful to the original spirit of Star Wars. There should be minimum use of cgi, because ILM can't seem to get CGI right (judging by the prequels and the SE).

People in the films should be generally less pretentious and false. I get that the prequels are set in a more decadent era, but they really overdo making people come off fake. Yoda should be Kenobi's master and mentor. It should be Kenobi's decision to train Anakin. Fighting in the clone wars should basically be a good thing, not a sign that the jedi are corrupt (because that's the impression we got in ANH and I bet the corrupt thing was invented later). Anakin should be a good guy who went bad, not a wanker who became even more of a wanker. My god, please no Yoda imitating a fly. Do Palpatine like he was done in ROTJ, not like the horrible ROTS overacting. Have some emotional depth in the films, please.

Boba Fett should not appear. At least not while he's just out of diapers. Get Marcia to help out, because she seems to be a good influence. Chewie shouldn't appear and be best buds with Yoda. Anakin shouldn't build C3PO. The death star shouldn't be part of it. Vader shouldn't be with Tarkin at the end. Maybe make Owen Kenobi's brother. Cut the silliness and dumb comedy. Vader shouldn't go "Noooo!" like a strangled chicken when he's just been reconstructed. No idiotic drawn-out fight scenes that have no feeling and bad acting and overdone thinderous music and overdone cgi backgrounds. If there's a Mace Windu, don't make him such a pain. Don't have Yoda be a pompous ass who goes in for macho posing -keep him faithful to the ROTJ/ESB portrayal. And use a fucking puppet -one that looks something like the old one -why is that so fucking hard?

No need for Jabba to appear and if he has to appear, don't make come off like a stoned cartoon. No podrace torture, thank you very much. No cartoon characters. Greedo or his dad doesn't have to appear. The Star wars universe is not one tiny neighbourhood -everybody doesn't have to know everybody. Anakin doesn't have to be an immaculate conception, for fuck's sake and cut the prophecy bull or that nonsense about how Anakin is the most powerful person in the force, ever. I'll bet you none of that was in the original story. Now Lucas has to retcon about Anakin's force power being crippled when he goes all bionic in ROTS to explain why Vader doesn't measure up to Palpatine's force power.

I'm just splitting stuff up into paragraphs randomly here, so it isn't one long block of text. Really, I could go on for ever on this topic. There's so much wrong with the prequels. For god's sake, don't cast Hayden Christensen as Anakin. Ok, that'll do for now.

I always liked the idea of the clone army being this big Sith conspiracy. However, the way it is presented makes the Jedi look like idiots for not ever finding out. I would make a minor change to the end of AOTC. Obi-Wan, Mace and Yoda realize now that Dooku is a Sith and impersonated Sifo-Dyas to the Kaminoans in order to create the army. The scene would play out as follows.

OBI-WAN

Dooku was strong with the dark side. I believe he is this Tyrannus person the bounty hunter spoke of. In that case he must also have been impersonating master Sifo-Dyas. Dooku ordered this new clone army.

YODA

The one to delete the Kamino file he must have been.

MACE

Why would the Sith Lords do this?

YODA

Intricate their plans are. For certain one thing is, they need a war.

OBI-WAN

And the Republic couldn't fight without troops. If what he told me on  Geonosis was true, about a Sith Lord hiding in the senate, then this war is a Sith operation with Tyrannus on one side and Sidious on the other. This is a plot aimed at us. At the Jedi; to bleed us dry. To make us into something we were never intended to be.

Mace lowers his head in agreement.

OBI-WAN

I know you’ll both agree the Sith have succeeded in doing at least that.

"The only decision made here today was one of cowardice. They’ve placed the burden of this war on the shoulders of one man and thus appointed a dictator. No honest man pines for supreme authority. All good men know of their own fallibility." -what Mace Windu should have said in Episode II-

Here are the details on my PT.

Forgive me if it's a little long. =)

Episode I - The Beginning

Takes place about forty years before ANH, wih the Clone Wars already long underway. The specifics of the Clone Wars (such as who are the clones, who they fight for, etc.) are not revealed.

Lord Maul (no "Darth", just "Maul") is the main villain of the story. He hires the Neimoidians - a federation of mercenaries in my PT - to invade Naboo and exterminate the reigining royal family. He is a Sith Lord, but neither the Neimoidians nor the Jedi learn of this.

Padmé is a princess of Naboo, the middle child to the reigning King and Queen (no "elected queen" stuff here). Both her parents and siblings are killed by the Neimoidian forces. She has limited Force abilities, namely the ability to see glimpses of the future.

Palpatine's father is the Grand Vizier of the King and Queen.

Qymaen jai Sheelal (General Grevious) plays the "ANH Vader" role as the supreme commander of the Neimoidian droid armies, though he is not a cyborg in this story.

The Gungans are allies of the Naboo, and can speak English relatively well (fuck that broken pseudo-Jamaican patois). They place Padmé under their protection after her home is destroyed.

Obi-Wan is about twenty years old and has recently attained Knighthood after several years of tutelage under Yoda. He has been assigned to a team of commandoes - lead by Colonel Bail Organa - on a mission to rescue Padmé from the Neimoidians.

Qui-Gon is a sixteen year old apprentice who has not yet completed his training. With his master (Dooku) recovering from injuries incurred from an earlier mission Qui-Gon has been temporarily placed under the care of Obi-Wan.

Captain Tarpals assumes Jar Jar's role (if Jar Jar himself exists, it's as Boss Nass' retarded court jester).

Anakin is about fifteen years old, and lives on Tatooine with Shmi, Owen, and Beru on their moisture farm. He is a foundling, and has never known his biological parents.

Watto is portrayed much like he was in TPM, but is also a corrupt gangster. The Lars are deeply in debt to him. He also has no problem accepting Republic credits (they can just be exchanged :)).

No pod race (there's no need for one anymore).

There is chemistry between Anakin and Padmé, though no true romance blossoms between them at this time.

Dooku is introduced, but is only a minor character.

The Prophecy of the Chosen One is defined, fleshed out.

The history of the Sith and their (supposed) extinction is revealed.

Theed is nuked.

Maul is badly injured at the end, and is thought dead, but is he ...?

Nute Gunray dies.

Sheelal attempts to kill Padmé, but in a battle with Tarpals is killed(?) by an exploding thermal detonator.

At the end Padmé goes through her coronation and is crowned the new Queen of Naboo.

Episode II - Knights of the Republic

Takes place a couple years after Ep. I, in the final months of the Clone Wars.

It is revealed that the main antagonists in the Clone Wars are the Kaminoans, who are genocidal extremists obsessed with purifying the universe through genetic engineering and eugenics. The foot soldiers of the Kaminoans are clones, some of which were cloned from Force-sensitives. The Force using clone troopers wear white robes over their armour and weild yellow lightsabers.

During a parade Padmé is nearly assassinated, which leads to the Jedi Council calling Anakin and Obi-Wan away from the frontlines to protect her.

It is revealed that Padmé is no longer the true leader of the Naboo. The corrupt parliament - lead by Palpatine Sr. - has wrested control away from her and made her nothing more than a figurehead. The assassin who tried to take Padmé out was an emissary of a group of insurgents who are fed up with the corrupt government.

It is revealed that Commander Sheelal survived Ep. I and was recreated as a cyborg by the Naboo to serve as Padmés "bodyguard".

Palpatine Jr. - the future Emperor - is introduced. He's apparently a friend of Padmés who is sympathetic to the insurgent cause.

It is at this time that a real romance begins to bloom between Padmé and Anakin. Anakin chooses to resist his feelings due to the Jedi's rule against attachment, though, much to Padmés chagrin.

Anakin believes that he should help the insurgents overthrow the government, but the Jedi Council forbids it and Obi-Wan agrees with them, causing strife between the two Jedi.

Eventually Obi-Wan has to be called away on a mission to destroy a cloning facility on an enemy planet, leaving Anakin alone to protect Padmé.

Dooku returns as a supporting character. He joins Obi-Wan in the mission against the clones.

Anakin and Padmé side with the insurgents, and together they all overthrow the corrupt government. Palpatine Sr. and his cronies are arrested, and eventually put on trial and imprisoned.

Palpatine Sr. dies in prison, when a droid created in his son's image visits him in prison and explodes. The culpit is Maul (or is it?) who is revealed to have survived Ep. I.

Due to his actions, Anakin is kicked out of the Jedi Order. He and Obi-Wan part on good terms, and he returns to Padmé and Palpatine Jr. on Naboo to help the newly created government get on its feet.

Padmé then has a disturbing dream of Anakin falling to a black-cloaked figure in a lightsaber duel (ooohhh, ominous XD).

Episode III - A Lost Hope

Twenty years have passed since Ep. II. The Clone Wars are long over, and Palpatine is now the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic. Anakin and Padmé are now married and living on Coruscant, with Anakin serving as Palpatine's bodyguard. There is turmoil within the Republic, however. Palpatine's government is believed to be corrupt, and Dooku - once an esteemed Knight within the Order - has left and now leads the Seperatist movement in opposition to Palpatine.

Relations between Palpatine and the Jedi are strained. Many have defected and joined Dooku, with the Jedi Council members themselves remaining loyal to Palpatine only out of a sense of obligation to the Republic. Concerned that the Jedi may be conspiring against him, Palpatine places Anakin on the Council to keep an eye on them.

Eventually Dooku attacks Coruscant and captures Palpatine. Anakin and Obi-Wan reunite, and go to rescue the Supreme Chancellor. After infiltrating Dooku's ship, cutting through Dooku's Jedi acolytes, and making their way to the bridge they engage Dooku in battle. It is there that it is revealed that Dooku is aware that Palpatine is in fact a Sith Lord, and plans to kill him. Believing that Palpatine is the only one who can restore order to the galaxy Anakin slays Dooku.

Obi-Wan eventually reveals Palpatine's secret to the Jedi Council, and it is then that they decide to rise up against Palpatine. When a contingent of Jedi led by Mace Windu is sent to arrest him, though, Anakin engages and defeats them. It is then that Palpatine decides the entire Jedi Council is against him. Anakin is sent with a battalion to the Jedi Temple, where they wipe out most of the Jedi stationed there (young children are spared and taken away for "de-programming").

It is revealed the Maul is not the one who had Palpatine Sr. killed, but Palpatine himself. Both Maul and Palpatine served as his apprentices, and Maul was completely devoted to his master. With eleven of his own apprentices, Maul attempts to avenge his slain master, but Palpatine is able to slay them all.

Yoda and Obi-Wan are among the few Jedi who escape the razing of the Temple, and together they reveal to Padmé Anakin's fall to the dark side. The three realize that the Sith must be stopped. Yoda himself believes that Anakin is completely corrupted and must be killed along with Palpatine, while Obi-Wan and Padmé both believe Anakin can be saved.

Padmé goes to Anakin and tells him that Yoda and Obi-Wan are hiding on Mustafar. Anakin reveals this information to Palpatine, who decides that they will journey to Mustafar together to take out the fugitives. Once they arrive Palpatine assigns the task of taking out Obi-Wan to Anakin, choosing to deal with Yoda himself.

Anakin finds Obi-Wan and the two duel. Obi-Wan holds back, trying to persuade Anakin to reject the dark side, but Anakin refuses. In the end Anakin loses his hand to Obi-Wan and he falls into a river of lava.

Palpatine himself tracks down Yoda, and sends his Royal Guards to take him out. After Yoda defeats the Guards Palpatine engages the Jedi Master himself. The two are too evenly matched, and their battle ends in a stalemate.

Anakin, having used the Force to protect himself, survives his fall into the lava, but is covered in burns and has lost his legs and lower torso. Palpatine finds him, and together they leave the volcanic world.

Yoda and Obi-Wan leave Mustafar and reunite with Padmé. They learn that Padmé is pregnant, and it is decided that she must leave Anakin and place the children under protection once she gives birth.

Palpatine has Anakin rebuilt as a cyborg. Palpatine reveals to him that Padmé has disappeared. The fallen Jedi is at first enraged, realizing that she betrayed him, and then falls into despair, admitting to himself that he has no one but himself to blame for her departure.

Months later Padmé is now living on Alderaan with Bail Organa and his wife, having had her face and voice surgically altered. She gives birth to the twins Luke and Leia. It is decided that Leia will remain on Alderaan, to be raised by the Organas with Padmé as her caretaker, and with Yoda taking Luke with him to Dagobah (a series of events take place between Eps. III and IV which leads to Luke being relocated to Tatooine to live with his stepuncle).

Palpatine officially reorganizes the Republic into an Empire, and he and his apprentice Darth Vader are left with the task of dealing with the leaderless Jedi left scattered across the galaxy.

Miscellaneous

The Jedi number in the billions. Though the Jedi Council is stationed on Coruscant there are countless other Jedi academies and training centres established on other worlds.

The Jedi wear all-black uniforms, similar to Luke's outfit in ROTJ, except for very young trainees and initiates, who wear all-white.

The Jedi weild only blue (azure) lightsabers, and the Sith weild only red (crimson) lightsabers; the only exceptions are : Anakin, who weilds a cyan lightsaber; Jedi initiates, who weild white training sabers; and Asajj Ventress, who weilds one deep blue lightsaber and one green lightsaber (I didn't bother mentioning her in my synopsis since she's essentially a peripheral character).

Yoda doesn't carry a lightsaber. He carries a tall white staff, which he can make lightsaber-resistant with the Force.

Palpatine doesn't carry his own lightsaber. When he chooses to use a lightsaber (which he rarely does) he just takes one from an opponent.

Palpatine is actually younger than Anakin and the other main characters. His nasty appearance in ROTJ is the result of decades of being eaten away by the dark side.

I would first quit trying to explain and link everything to the OT. Anakin ceases to be himself and becomes Darth Vader and is thus destroyed at some point during Ep III. In Eps I and II, I would show the friendship and relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan, and the eventual relationship between Anakin and Padme who would not be a queen or a senator and could go into hiding on Alderaan with Bail. Anakin would be in his early 20's and not a 9 year old boy.

In order to simplify everything, a smaller cast of characters is needed and others would be introduced as the trilogy went on: Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, R2 and 3PO, Bail, Palpatine and Maul would be the focus. Maul would be the main villain in the PT as Vader was in the OT with Palpatine of course pulling all the strings. No Jar Jar, Yoda, Qui Gon, Dooku, Boba, Jango, Grievous, or Separatists. Yoda wouldn't appear so that his appearance in Ep V would still be a revelation. I think the Jedi Council should be there giving marching orders and not taking a wait and see attitude. It's a time of war; give orders!

By the end of Ep I the Clone Wars have started and they would take center stage in Eps II and III, and the political stuff that dominated the PT would take a back seat. You would see things go from a more civilized time over to the dark times with lots of adventures thrown in.

Anyway, this is my 2 cents for what it's worth.

I found this version of the PT great, just I would like to withdraw the prophecy completely because it removes the side “it is thanks to Luke that Vader became Anakine again and destroyed the dark side”

I like the prequel. Yes I like bad movies…

Heh. My ideal PT has undergone quite the metamorphosis since 2010, so I agree with you about the prophecy but disagree with you on the greatness of my treatment. 😉

Since Anakin’s fall is supposed to be a dark reflection of Luke’s rise, I would give Qui-Gon a role closer to that of Obi-Wan, and Palpatine the role of Yoda.

Episode 1: Anakin is a Padawan in the Jedi Temple. He never knew his mother; and yet, he’s getting nightmares about her. He asks about this to Master Obi-Wan, who just says Jedi aren’t supposed to have attachments. Anakin goes along with this because he believes in the Jedi teachings. After being called to action by the plot, he somehow meets Qui-Gon, an ex-Jedi who tells him that receiving visions of the parents they never knew is a sign that somebody is especially strong with the force. He goes on to explain how he was expelled by the Jedi council for believing that the Dark Side is not inherently sinister, but could in fact be used for good. Then more plot, the Seperatist Alliance declares war, Qui-Gon dies, and Anakin does some climactic act of heroism… using the Dark Side. He completes the first cycle of his hero’s journey by returning to the Jedi with the knowledge that they might not be trustworthy.

Episode 2: The Tusken Raiders, on behalf of Tatooine, join the separatist alliance. Anakin is working with Obi-Wan and Padme (with whom he’s falling in love) on the political side of the war. They try to keep the fighting to a minimum but Anakin still gets some moments to show he’s proficient in combat. Before long, Anakin is assigned to protect Chancellor Palpatine - who, in their time together, talks to Anakin about power and control, which Anakin believes himself to be lacking because he obeys the Jedi Council. Eventually, Palpatine has some strings pulled to get Anakin assigned to Tatooine, where he discovers the Tusken Raiders have taken several civilians hostage, including Shmi. Palpatine warns Anakin that the Tuskens can’t be reasoned with, but Anakin tries to negotiate rather than freeing the prisoners by force; however, the negotiations fail, and Anakin’s mother is killed. He responds by force-choking the leader.

Episode 3: Anakin is now a General. He claims he is only doing his duty as a Jedi, but he secretly hopes the war goes on forever. He’s still in a covert relationship with Padme, but they’re apart so much that he’s more in love with the idea of Padme than with Padme herself. We also discover he has kept the mask that belonged to the Tusken Raider he killed. Palpatine tells Anakin more of what he wants to hear: the ends justify the means, all that matters is destroying the Separatists, and the Jedi are complicit and must be destroyed. Anakin provides the chancellor with the information necessary to “hunt down and destroy the Jedi knights” but DOES NOT PHYSICALLY KILL ANY OF THEM. Instead, he goes to Mustafar (which is more of an industrial wasteland than volcanic nightmare, but still very hell-ish), wearing the mask which, when combined with his hood, bears resemblance to a certain other mask he is known for wearing. He gives the Seperatist leaders an ultimatum: join the new Empire or die. Most of them agree, but the Tusken raiders are among those that don’t, so Anakin - now Vader - kills them. Anakin then turns on Padme and fights Obi-Wan like in the movie, while Palpatine - instead of dueling Yoda - sets a trap, and blows up the Senate building with Yoda inside. Yoda survives but is crippled, and Palpatine blames the destruction on the Jedi. Anakin gets defeated by Obi-Wan, who presumes his friend dead, and cannot retrieve the body because of the fire that is spreading around them - a fire that started because Anakin tried to shoot force lightning but didn’t have the hang of it. Darth Vader would go on to believe that, if he had only been more focused in his hatred for Obi-Wan, his horrible injuries would never have happened.

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

I have some Prequel rewrite plots, cobbled together from other Prequel Rewrites with a dash of my own ideas. I hope somebody likes these:

Star Wars Episode I: The Beginning (the movie as marketed as Star Wars: The Beginning)

The film opens with a Republic Cruiser heading to the peaceful planet of Alderaan where the planet is being blockaded by the Galactic Traders. Aboard are two Jedi Knights, young Ben Kenobi (Ben Kenobi is the trilogy’s protagonist) and Qui-Gon Jinn who are disguising themselves as Republic Ambassadors but through the use of security cameras, the Viceroy of the Traders, Nute Gunray and tells this to his leader, Darth Vader who orders for their execution. First their ship is destroyed and the Neimoidian Troopers try to kill them but Ben and Qui-Gon ignite their lightsabers and kill them all and escape down to Alderaan.

On Alderaan, Queen Organa and Prince Bail discuss with the council the disruption of their communications fearing an invasion but before they know it, the Galactic Traders arrive on the city streets and take the castle by storm and arrest them all. Ben and Qui-Gon who snuck aboard two smaller transports meet up and save them. Queen Organa and Prince Bail agree to go with them to Coruscant to meet with their representative, Senator Palpatine. They take off on their royal starship, which Vader finds out about and chases them down on in his Sith Infiltrator. Ben and Qui-Gon use the ship’s only defense with are turrets but Qui-Gon manages to defeat Vader by damaging one of his engines but he is injured in the process.

The crew and Bail say that because of the mysterious ship, the Hyperdrive was destroyed in the process so they’ll need to find a replacement. Ben finds a planet where they can a Hyperdrive, Tatooine. Bail disagrees going there but after some talking with the Queen they decide to go there. On Tatooine, Qui-Gon stays on the ship to Force Heal while Ben disguises himself as a Alderaan Farmer and Prince Bail suggests taking the Queen’s handmaiden, Padme and her protocol droid, C-3PO with him which he reluctantly agrees. They travel to Mos Eisley Spaceport where they find a junk shop run by a creature named Watto and his only employee, a young boy named Anakin Lars. Ben first meets Anakin when he accidently almost knocks something over and Anakin helps him out and the two feel a Force Connection with each other. Ben in this scene is also shown to be a noob at Force Mind Tricks before Episode IV where he was a pro at it.

After not getting the hyperdrive, Ben, Padme and C-3PO go to diner, but Padme and C-3PO wait outside since “No Droids Allowed.” Ben, being in a not so pleasant mood gets himself in a fight with a racer named, Sebulba. Anakin comes in to knock off the fighting but Sebulba swears revenge. Ben thanks the boy and he takes them all to his homestead out in the desert where they meet his mother, Shmi Lars and his older brother Owen Lars. Ben, Padme and C-3PO also get a glance at Anakin’s project droid, R2-D2. Meanwhile, Darth Vader has learned of the Queen and the Jedi going to Tatooine has talked to his master, Darth Sidious about his plans and Sidious instructs him to go there and capture the Queen and the Prince and kill the rest.

At the homestead, Ben and Anakin bond some more and Anakin discovers he’s a Jedi and being inexperienced with his teachings, he tells Anakin about the Force which he’s amazed by. And once talk of Podracing comes up, Ben gets the idea of making Anakin race for Watto to get them the money they need, which he agrees upon. Ben signs Anakin up for the race which is the next morning, but to their surprise, Sebulba is in the race and faces off against Anakin. But Ben tells Anakin to use the Force, let go and trust him to which he does and wins the money and the race.

Afterwards, the hyperdrive is taken to the ship and Ben asks Anakin if he wants to come with him to Coruscant to become a Jedi Knight but he has a heart to heart talk with his mother because he wants to make her proud and he’ll come back for her and Owen some way and somehow. She agrees and he leaves with Ben. But when they leave, a probe droid finds them and Ben cuts it down and they run for it. But Darth Vader attacks them and Ben duels the Sith Lord. Qui-Gon feels the Disturbance in the Force and Anakin’s presence and rushes out to meet the boy and they go to the cockpit and rescue Ben.

The crew finally arrives at Coruscant and they meet Senator Palpatine and President Valorum. The group separates so they can do their own thing. Anakin is brought before the Jedi and tested and Queen Organa, Bail and Palpatine go to the Senate. Ben and Qui-Gon discuss the whereabouts of Vader to the Jedi Council led by Mace Windu. Yoda would be there but he’s away saving a planet from being sucked into a black hole. Ben then confronts the Council about Anakin and suggests that he should be tested because of his friendship with the boy and he’s a lot like him. Mace reluctantly agrees and Anakin is tested, but is assigned to Qui-Gon as his master much to Ben’s frustration.
Meanwhile, Palpatine is taking action with Queen Organa and Prince Bail and has manipulated Queen Organa to order “A Vote of No Confidence” to replace President Valorum which she does before the Senate and the Voting begins.

After feeling homesick and discussing it with Bail, Queen Organa decides to return home with Ben, Qui-Gon and Anakin. Before leaving, Ben and Qui-Gon get into an argument over Anakin and Qui-Gon relents him over and Anakin is left in the dark between the two Jedi. On Alderaan, Darth Vader returns to the surprise of Gunray and his followers and he says that the Queen is returning and they need to put all their effort into using their blockade by taking down all of Alderaan. One of the Queen’s councilmen and his men find out and decide to launch an attack on the blockade using all their pilots.

Upon arriving on Alderaan, the Queen’s Starship is caught in the crossfire of the space battle of Alderaan and the Queen is badly injured in the battle. Prince Bail takes over and orders a return to the palace. Inside they meet with the Queen’s councilmen and they take the Queen to a med bay where she dies. But no time for mourning, everyone meets with the Pilots and they discuss the plan on how to defeat the blockade by taking down the main control ship. Padme volunteers to lead the pilots because she is the REAL Queen and makes a speech to inspire the pilots and Anakin volunteers as one of the pilots and everyone else joins in.

Anakin, Padme and all the pilots take to the sky where they all fight the Neimoidian Fighters while Ben, Qui-Gon, and some Alderaan Fighters sneak aboard the main control ship to help deactivate the turrets and turn the tide. But Darth Vader finds them and duels Ben and Qui-Gon. Ben and Qui-Gon duel Vader into the engine rooms of the control ship where they reach the airlock of the ship where Qui-Gon and Ben are separated when Vader force pushes Ben into a laser shield bearer and Vader stabs Qui-Gon in the chest.

In space, things aren’t going so good until Anakin is hit and goes flying into the hanger and Qui-Gon feels Anakin’s presence and calls to him saying to use the Force and he fires at the Main Reactor destroying it. At the duel, Ben duels Vader and wounds his legs and cuts off his left arm. He knocks Ben into the airlock and activates it. But Qui-Gon uses his last bit of Force to close it. Ben jumps up and drags Qui-Gon to the hanger, back to the shuttle where they share a moment where Qui-Gon asks Ben to promise Ben to train Anakin for him and he dies. Ben then escapes the main control ship and Vader escapes into space. The blockade also is defeated but only two remaining ships retreat into space, one containing Gunray and his followers.

The film ends with Anakin returning to Alderaan with Padme and everyone congratulates him, Yoda finally appearing and meeting Ben and allowing Ben to train Anakin, Qui-Gon getting cremated and Padme knighting Ben as her Jedi Guardian and giving Anakin the name, “Anakin Skywalker.”

Star Wars Episode II: Appearance of the Clones (the movie as marketed as Star Wars: Appearance of the Clones)

The film opens with Ben Kenobi and his apprentice Anakin Skywalker, ten years after Episode I returning to the desert world of Tatooine, but on the other side of it where most of it is acid and mixed with canyons and sand. They find out most of this land is a slave plantation and is controlled by the Galactic Traders and Viceroy Nute Gunray. They sneak around and find Anakin’s mother and brother, Shmi and Owen as slaves and R2-D2 is a mining astromech droid. Ben and Anakin help Shmi, Owen and R2-D2 work with the slaves against the Neimoidian Troopers and escape on the Traders Transports and flee off Tatooine. However, Ben, Anakin, Shmi, Owen and R2 take a pod to the Homestead from the last movie and they offer them a chance to come with them to Coruscant but they decide not to and restart the family farm.

Meanwhile on Coruscant, Senator Padme Organa, Prince Bail and C-3PO arrive from Alderaan but their ship is blown up by a mysterious figure on a nearby building and the trio are rescued by Mace Windu and the local Police and are brought to the Senate to tell everyone and President Palpatine about the attack. Palpatine suggests getting some guardianship from the Jedi and he suggests Anakin and Ben which they meet at her apartment and Anakin tries to woo her over after ten years but no luck.

That night, the mysterious figure from earlier, programs a droid and some poisonous camouflaged snakes to enter Padme’s apartment bedroom and take out the camera’s and fool R2 but Anakin and Ben sense them and Anakin uses his lightsaber to destroy the snakes. He then sees the droid and jumps out the window and Ben gives chase on a speeder and saves him from a blast from the mysterious figure. They chase him through Coruscant and Anakin takes over as pilot and uses amazing piloting skills through the speeder crowd and uses the Force, kinetically to catch up with the mysterious figure. But when he accidently breaks the wheel, they jump onto a few other speeders and Anakin uses Force Freeze to freeze the Speeder engine and the speeder crashes into the streets of the Coruscant Underworld below. The figure turns out to be, Boba Fett and is bleeding from his arm from the crash. Ben and Anakin try to stop him, but Fett ties them up using his wrist gauntlets and flies way. They are found by Prince Bail and the local police by Ben takes a sample of Fett’s blood and examines it with the Jedi Science Lab and they say it’s clone blood and Ben does a blood check on is his and he questions Yoda about who he really is and goes to his “old friend,” a retired Jedi Crystal Miner and Artifact collector, Dexter Jettster for help but he won’t tell Ben the truth.

As the stakes get raised higher and higher, Prince Bail decides with the Jedi Council and President Palpatine that Padme should go into hiding so that she’ll be safer than on Coruscant. Anakin is made her guardian and the two start to dismiss each other and are given fake names and disguises and go off to Alderaan with C-3PO and R2-D2. Meanwhile, Darth Vader has learned of Nute Gunray’s failure on Tatooine and punishes him and replaces him with a more superior Viceroy Wat Tambor and begins plotting with other systems that Tambor controls so they can begin the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

On the other hand, Ben Kenobi arrives on the water planet of Aquliae where he meets the Prime Minister, Lama Su and he sees their creation of Clone Stormtroopers, ordered by a mysterious man named “Syfo Dyas” who isn’t a familiar name with the Jedi Order. He meets Boba Fett and the two wanna kick each others asses but they don’t. Ben contacts Yoda and Mace about Fett and they tell him to go and interrogate him and he races back to his room where he is gone and Fett locks him in but Kenobi uses a technique with Force gripping a ball of it and unleashing it on the door and gives chase to Fett to his ship, the Slave 1 and they fight. Fett escapes but Ben puts a tracking device on his ship.

Meanwhile, Anakin, Padme, C-3PO and R2-D2 arrive on Alderaan and are greeted by a Neimoidian who takes them to a carriage and tries to blow them up but Anakin takes him down and doesn’t try to kill him but holds back. Since they know the city is not safe, they hide up in the mountains in a nice cottage. There, Anakin and Padme start to hint a romance beginning at the fireplace and have a major kiss and later go Horseback riding.

Ben manages to track Fett all the way to the rocky grey world of Ttaz where Ben spies on Fett and finds out he is in league with Darth Vader and Viceroy Wat Tambor and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. But when he tries to escape, Nute Gunray finds him and says he’ll help him make contact with the Republic. First he makes contact with Anakin and Padme and they broadcast Ben’s message to the Jedi Council and the Senate who are both in the middle of meetings. But during the broadcast, Ben is captured and Gunray is killed by the Ttazians, a species of bug like monsters with wings. Anakin makes the choice to go there but Padme tries to advise against it but he says that maybe she could add some political sense into whoever has him captured and they go to Ttaz.

Back on Coruscant, Palpatine and the Jedi meet and they are in chaos! They don’t know what to do and one of the politicians advice at this time they must give Emergency Powers to Palpatine. Prince Bail makes the fateful choice and Palpatine declares that he has plans to make an army with the mysterious workers of Aquiliae to help them. Yoda decides to go Aquiliae as Mace Windu goes to prepare the Jedi to go to Ttaz to save Ben. On Ttaz, Darth Vader confronts Ben and they talk. Ben snarks at Vader and he unmasks himself to reveal he IS Ben Kenobi too. Ben is horrified and Ben/Vader goes into detail on who he really is. He was seduced by the Dark Side at a young age and Yoda felt guilty about his turn and he kept a sample of his DNA stored and cloned him to become the better and flawless Jedi he couldn’t be. The protagonist Ben we know is codenamed: OB-1 Kenobi or “Obi-Wan Kenobi” for a Real Name. At this moment, Ben offers OB-1 to join him in the Dark Side and they can destroy the Sith and save the Republic from war but OB-1 refuses. Ben/Vader puts his mask back on and orders for his execution.

Anakin and Padme arrive on Ttaz and C-3PO and R2-D2 stay on the ship. They meet with Darth Vader and argue for OB-1 to be freed. But Vader orders for their execution too and the two lovers share a silent kiss before entering the arena and they all are forced to fight a Gorog. Which they manage to take down, thanks to the leadership of OB-1 but they are surrounded by Neimoidian Troopers but Mace Windu and the Jedi arrive and a huge battle begins. Fett enters the arena and fights Mace but is beheaded. Then as the battle increases Tambor introduces his legion of Techno Guards, similar to Praetorian Guards but mixed with Super Battle Droids. The Jedi are surrounded and Vader offers them all a chance to surrender or die but then Yoda and the Clone Stormtroopers arrive and save them. Fett’s remains were then picked up by Separatist Medical Droids and carried them away saying they’re for a top secret project.

The Neimoidian Troopers, Clone Stormtroopers, and Jedi battle on the grey rocky battlefield as the gunships take to the sky and take down the Galactic Traders Control Ships from heading into space and power towers. Vader flees with the plans for a top secret project that will be explained in the next movie (the Death Star) and Vader’s co fighters manage to shoot the Gunships down. One shoots OB-1, Anakin and Padme’s and she falls out. But Anakin having feelings for her orders to put the ship down but OB-1 tells him not to. They arrive at Vader’s hanger with a much larger Control Ship and inside are more Neimoidian Troopers and Techno Guards. They take them down and duel Vader. He manages to wound OB-1 and Anakin slices open Vader/Ben’s mask and they duel and the Control Ship begins to rise into space. Padme awakens thanks to Yoda and his squad and they race to the Control Ship and land just as it leaves the atmosphere. Yoda orders Padme and the Clones to take over the bridge and lower the control ship back onto the planet as he finds Anakin, OB-1 and Vader/Ben. Back at the duel, Anakin and Vader/Ben accidentally destroy the gravity support system and make everything float inside the Control Ship until Padme presses a button to restart everything giving Vader/Ben the advantage to slice off Anakin’s right arm and throw him against a wall. Vader/Ben prepares to flee but Yoda catches him and the two engage in a Force Battle. And Vader/Ben ignites his lightsaber but Yoda takes it from him saying some mythological stuff how a lightsaber isn’t important. But Vader uses this moment to distract him by using a pillar to crush Anakin and OB-1 and Yoda saves them. Vader escapes.

Vader returns to Coruscant to a place called The Works and meets Darth Sidious claiming the Clone Wars have begun and Sidious says all is going as he has foreseen. At the Jedi Temple, OB-1 is struggling to cope with fact he is a clone and Anakin is getting a new arm and he decides to propose to Padme and she says yes. Palpatine then broadcasts a speech over the Battle of Ttaz and how it’s now going to affect the galaxy and it breaks Yoda’s heart and he decides to go into exile. OB-1 hears of this and races to his platform but Yoda tells him to stay strong and be ready because “we still have work to do” and leaves into who knows where.

The film ends with the Clone Stormtroopers marching on parade to war through Coruscant with the Imperial March playing and Palpatine, Prince Bail and some Senators watching and Anakin and Padme getting married and being welcomed into the Jedi Order by Mace Windu, with a depressed OB-1 lurking in the background.

Star Wars Episode III: Rise of the Empire (the movie as marketed as Star Wars: Rise of the Empire)

The film begins with a battle over Coruscant where the Separatists (The Confederacy of Independent Systems) and the Galactic Republic are fighting over the planet because of the kidnapping of President Palpatine. This battle is led by General OB-1 Kenobi and his apprentice, Commander Anakin Skywalker who led the command forces of drafted Republic Officers led by Captain Tarkin and his Clone Pilots to Darth Vader’s command ship, the Invisible Hand. They land and take out the Techno Guards and Neimoidian Troopers and R2-D2 finds Palpatine located in the Tower Suite of the Invisible Hand. Anakin asks the question of why the Separatists kidnapped Palpatine and OB-1 says that Palpatine is a royalty player in the war and taking him will be kicking the Republic in the balls. The two then find a captured Jedi named Shaak Ti who tried to get aboard the ship before them and is killed by the alien monster cyborg (but is portrayed and puppetered by a man in a suit) General Grievous.

The two cut a hole in the floor and jump into the fuel tank of the ship and they are separated by the Scuba Nemiodian Drivers and Anakin manages to make it through the Air Vents to an elevator to the Suite first while OB-1 is captured and brought before Grievous. Anakin finds Palpatine chained to the floor and takes out the Techno Guards and Darth Vader arrives and he asks where is OB-1 and Anakin gives him a chance to surrender. The two duel until Anakin chops off Vader’s hands and Palpatine temps him to kill him but Anakin refuses until Vader taunts him about OB-1 saying something about him that pisses Anakin off and he throws Vader out a window and he collides with a Neimoidian Fighter and his body explodes into a brilliant blue blaze, like Palpatine in “Return of the Jedi.”

At the bridge, Grievous oversees a hologram for the top secret project and OB-1 arrives and Grievous interrogates him and Anakin and Palpatine find out about OB-1 and they decide to get themselves captured too with a little help of R2-D2. They arrive and take out all the Neimoidian Guards and the Techno Guards but Grievous escapes by breaking the glass and makes it into an escape pod. The Invisible Hand then malfunctions and crash lands on Coruscant, but Anakin being a good pilot, manages to get them to safety and lands them at an spaceport. They arrive at the Senate where everyone greets them and Padme tries to give Anakin some good news but is shot down when the Jedi Council calls for an immediate meeting. Apparently, they found the top secret project called, the Death Star which is being constructed under someone named “Sidious” and the Jedi become suspicious on who it could be.

Grievous arrives at the distant volcanic world of Sullust where he meets Viceroy Wat Tambor and his followers where they discuss the fate of what to do now that the Death Star has been discovered and they’ve started pre-production on a second Death Star. Grievous contacts Darth Sidious and assures them all will be well and that: “Vader isn’t truly gone. Somebody is going to take his title.” On Coruscant, OB-1, Anakin, Padme, Prince Bail, C-3PO and R2-D2 have a nice dinner celebrating their victory over the Battle of Coruscant. OB-1 and Anakin have a talk over what Vader had said to Anakin about OB-1 and the two patch things up for now. The next day, Palpatine calls upon Anakin personally since he owes him for rescuing him and asks him to have the Council make him a Jedi Master. He personally speaks with Mace Windu, OB-1 and the rest of Jedi Council, one on one but they refuse and OB-1 comes to his defense on why he could possibly be a master and Mace brings up Qui-Gon’s promise to Episode I and how it never said he should train him to be a Jedi Master, which shocks Anakin and he storms out. OB-1 follows and the two get into their first major argument and Anakin leaves. He returns to Padme’s apartment where the two find comfort in each other.

On Sullust, Grievous and Tambor have started to assemble all the Chrome Iron they need to help build the Death Star after the 13 years of collect it, since it is rare to find. On Coruscant, Palpatine and Anakin meet again and he tells him about Grievous being found on Sullust and tells him about the Dark Side and how he wanted to become a Jedi and learn more about both sides of the Force but instead found himself as a Senator. Anakin begins to question Palpatine, especially when he brings up the fact that he’s sick and that he is getting more and more deformed because of it (just like in Episode II.)

OB-1 is assigned to go to Sullust and take out Grievous and destroy the Death Star, while Anakin is assigned to spy on Palpatine. As OB-1 arrives at Sullust, he gets a good view of the early constructed battle station but is attacked by Neimoidian Fighters and crash lands on Sullust. He makes it to the base and fights Grievous who uses a shield and Lightsaber blocking staff to defend himself. OB-1 is no match for this monster and is beaten and is taken to a cell. On Coruscant, Palpatine gives in and reveals all to Anakin that he created the Clone Stormtrooper army and is the mastermind behind the entire Clone Wars, and together they can destroy the Jedi Order and bring peace to the galaxy. Anakin ignites his lightsaber as Palpatine reveals himself as Darth Sidious and Anakin holds himself back from killing him and reports him to Mace Windu who decides to confront Palpatine with a squad of Jedi. Anakin then has a moment of doubt, disconnecting himself from reality and the Force and goes to save Palpatine.

At the office, Palpatine uses all his powers on the Jedi: a Force Power using only his eyes to suck out one’s soul, Force Fire, and Force Controlling someone to manipulating the body to rip out their spine. Palpatine unleashes regular Force Lighting at Mace but he deflects it back at him sending him flying at the window, cracking it. Anakin arrives and stops Windu by stabbing him in the chest and Palpatine laughs congratulating Anakin on passing his test and Anakin pledges himself to the Dark Side, promising to become his best student and Palpatine says all is prepared for him and he has the perfect name for him: Darth Vader.

First order in Palpatine’s plan to make sure he takes over the galaxy is that the Jedi must become extinct and he wears Vader/Ben’s suit as he and the Clone Stormtroopers march on the Jedi Temple. At the Senate, Padme, Prince Bail and several Senator watch as Palpatine plays an edited tape of Mace Windu attacking him and he declares all Jedis as public enemy number 1. Padme and Prince Bail not being too happy with this organize their own Rebellion against Palpatine with Mon Mothma and Garm Bel Iblis. Across the galaxy on Sullust, OB-1 feels the deaths of so many of his friends and escapes to see what is going on. He evades Grievous and takes his personal ship and meets with Prince Bail and Padme who decide to take him to the Jedi Temple with the assumption that maybe more surviving Jedi come.

They arrive at the Temple with Stormtroopers disguised as Jedi Knights and OB-1 pulls their stunt and Padme, Prince Bail and OB-1 take them down and they find all the damage done by Vader/Anakin. OB-1 then sees the hologram and thinks it’s impossible for Vader to be alive until he sees Anakin kneeling before Palpatine and he is heartbroken until someone appears from the shadows: Yoda. Yoda’s appearance shocks everyone and OB-1 tries to give him a hug but Yoda tells him to hold back his emotions because now is not the time to remorse, it is time to fight. They may have lost Anakin and all the Jedi, but it doesn’t mean they’ve lost hope. At this moment, OB-1 sense that Padme is pregnant with Anakin’s child and he knows now he must get her to safety and they need to get her and Prince Bail somewhere. But then Bail gets a message from Palpatine’s advisor saying that Palpatine wants another meeting where he declares that the Republic is merging with the Separatists to form a new battlestation for a secure future for the Galaxy and the Republic will be reborn as the First Galactic Empire.

Knowing they must act fast, OB-1 goes with a group of Rebel Pilots to Sullust as Yoda helps Prince Bail and Padme get off Coruscant somehow, but they are chased by the Stormtroopers and Palpatine’s Royal Forces. Over Sullust, OB-1 is the Red Leader and leads his Pilots to destroy the base and the Iron using a blue jelly like substance fusing the Iron together making it impossible to use. Grievous contacts Palpatine who then blows up the base with him and Tambor inside and it shocks OB-1 and the crew, just enough for Vader/Anakin and his V-Wing Fighters to come in and take out OB-1 and force him to hide somewhere. But Vader/Anakin finds him and unmasks himself and OB-1 pleas for Anakin to come back to the Light and stop what he is doing, but Anakin is too far removed from the Light to realize what he is doing so the two engage in a duel over the smoky lava terrain.

Meanwhile, Yoda manages to get Padme and Prince Bail onto the Tantive IV and tells them to go to the swamp world of Dagobah and Palpatine arrives there to personally fight Yoda and the two engage in an epic Force fight until Palpatine uses Force Lightning on Yoda and it’s revealed Yoda is a Force Projection. Yoda was projecting himself from Dagobah long enough to distract Palpatine and help Padme and Prince Bail escape from Coruscant. Yoda’s projection fades away and Palpatine lets out a massive Force Scream and Yoda falls to the ground, breaking his back in the process (“do not underestimate the powers of The Emperor…”)

On Sullust, Anakin and OB-1 continue their duel uphill until they reach the edge of a volcano. OB-1 is knocked into it, but lands onto an island and the two jump from island to island and fight. The duel ends with OB-1 reaching a cliff of the volcano and jumping up it and saying to Anakin something like “you are who you chose to be” but Anakin rejects it and jumps at OB-1 and he cuts off Anakin’s entire left arm and lower half and he lands into the lava. Tears swell from OB-1’s eyes and he picks up Anakin’s blue lightsaber and retreats back to his ship before the V-Wing Fighters find him. He is contacted by Prince Bail to meet them on Dagobah where they find a crippled Yoda and OB-1 uses the Force to heal Yoda and fix his spine and fixes up a tree branch as his cane. They then give a scan on Padme as it’s revealed that she’s carrying twin Force Sensitive babies and will be due soon. OB-1 talks with Yoda and Prince Bail about the fate of the children and they agree that after they are born, they should be sealed away from each other. OB-1 knowing now that Padme now knows too that her husband is Vader should be taken in with Bail to Alderaan and be made a handmaiden with the first twin and the other twin taken to Tatooine where he’ll be raised by Anakin’s brother, Owen Lars. OB-1 also apologizes for failing Yoda but he assures him all will be fine as he made contact with the ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn as he’ll teach them the secrets of Force Immortality.

The movie ends with Prince Bail being crowned King of Alderaan and Padme watching from a balcony with a unseen baby (Leia,) with C-3PO and R2-D2 bickering in the background but are taken away to have their memories wiped, Palpatine being cheered by a crowd of Stormtroopers and people with Captain Tarkin at his side saying: “Long Live Palpatine! Long Live the Empire!” and OB-1 arriving at the Lars Homestead where Owen comes out from the homestead and is given an unseen baby (Luke) and OB-1 wanders off into the desert like the ending of a western.
