The Empire Strikes Back "1980 Theatrical version" Reconstruction - Adywan (Released) — Page 11

Ok, I grabbed the DLCs from paradox, loaded them into Jdownloader and just finished getting everything.  Now, when I run QuickPar on the audio fix, it says I'm missing the part01.rar file for it.  Was there something wrong with the DLC that it didn't have the link to it?  Where can I get the missing file?

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Nick, I love how the Cover and the Maquarrie art on the back is of similar colour, on both covers. Great work, I really love your covers, and hope to see more from you in the future.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Sorry, I was referring to Empire Revisited. When you're typing Reconstruction and Revisited over and over sometimes things get confused.

Any chance that A New Hope and Return of the Jedi will get this treatment too?

To follow-up on my post a few days ago about the charity screenings of EMPIRE that were held a few weeks ago....it was the 2004 edition screened.  The following site states that, "I can report it was a digital copy of the special edition without the Luke scream.  If you’re a Star Wars fan…you know what I’m talking about."  Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film by screening the 2004 DVD edition?  I'd have griped, especially because of the replaced Fett voice.

Blent?  Is that a word?

It's archaic, but I prefer original English irregular verbs.

@Ripplin and TV's Frink, thank you.   :-)

@Ziz, yes; many people seem to have a problem with part 1.

If successful, it would be the first time anyone has successfully blent lower quality footage into higher quality footage in any theatrical restoration, let alone an HD one.

What about Clive Revill in Ady's ESB AVCHD?

Well, I was thinking of original theatrical, rather than 1997 theatrical, but you are right.  :-P

Since this will apparently be the last version from Ady with blue-ties, I second the motion for "BT, MU, and RS uploads soon, pretty please." ;)

I will only be uploading it to newsgroups as i stay well clear of torrents. With it only being a DVD-5 the free giganews or other trials should be sufficient to grab this.

Well screw that (sides, how many free trials will it take to get every new fan edit/preservation that comes out?). I'll wait for the free megaupload or rapidshare uploads, much easier than giving them your cc # and having to cancel before the end of the "trial" just for one file.

I hope those aren't on your blacklist too... (and jdownloader makes it really easy) ;)

well i am so sorry if i made things difficult for you. After all i only took time out of my personal life to work on this thing and make it available for free. I should have been more thoughtful about just how difficult it would have been to grab a free account and then torturous task of having to cancel it before the free trial ended. I really should have taken in to consideration that uploading this movie somewhere that would be both the most convenient and safest route for me would be so inconvenient for someone else. I will try harder next time and upload to every "free" place and completely tie up my internet connection for many days that is not only used by me but also my wife and kids. But i realise that you are more important and i am sorry and will be more thoughtful next time

Sheesh.

Usenet is the safest way for someone to share their work. No one has ever been prosecuted  for uploading to usenet. The MPAA and its associated counterpart here in the UK are prosecuting people who use torrents all the time. Over here now if you get reported then you will soon be banned for life from ever having the internet, be slapped with a huge fine and could also face a spell in jail. I am not prepared to risk that so i refuse to use torrents.  Rapidshare are well known to pass on users information and their uploading activities if requested after a complaint so i refuse to use that route to upload anything but some short clips. Megaupload isn't any better. So maybe you should think about that before saying crap like "screw that" just because i have uploaded to somewhere that doesn't suit you

Nick, i'm loving those covers. Can't wait until you make them available

Kurgan, elbarto has made this available via a rapidshare download.  You just have to get the info from him.  You can download it for free off of RapidShare, but it'll take quite a long time to download.  If you get a 30 day RapidShare Premium account for about $10 US, it is a non-recurring charge.  The blazing fast speed is worthwhile.  You'll download the whole thing within two hours, depending on the speed of your connection.  I can understand not wanting to spread your credit card number around the 'net since I have suffered both credit card fraud and identity theft myself (thankfully, my bank and credit card company were very fast and sharp in assisting me).  I've had many shady websites screw me over with trial memberships.  So, I get your hesitations.  Though, RapidShare handles payments through PayPal who give you added security with your transaction, and you can transfer direct from a bank account, if you'd prefer.

Personally, I'm sick of torrents.  You can't count on them at all since it's totally dependent on someone else have a fast enough connection, and them staying online long enough for you to download it all.  And if the torrent is too old, there's no one sharing it, anymore.  I know jackshit about newsgroups, and so, I can't comment on them.  I am a Mac person, and so, I don't even know if there's proper software for me to get on one.  But fact is, an alternative has been made available, and soon, another one will be posted with the audio fix intact.  The wonderful people on this forum have come together to make this as easy as possible considering the grey area we're working in.

Sheesh.

Sheesh yourself, ady.  You do realize that you have to enter a credit card number, right?  I mean, a whole credit card number!  Do you have any idea how long those things are?  Certainly it would take you much longer to enter the card number than to complain about having to enter it.  And what if you don't remember the card number?  Sure, it's probably on the card or something, but what if you can't find the card?  Or maybe you and your friends accidentally kicked it into your mean old neighbor's yard - you know, the one with the scary dog and the terrible body odor?  And after all that, you have to remember to cancel the account, and you only have 30 days to do it.  Do you have any idea how fast 30 days go?  What if you go into a coma and you forgot to tell your wife to cancel the account?  Where are you going to get that 10 bucks?

Wow, look at all those wasted complaints. Why are people so gosh darned sensitive about reasonable requests???

Welcome to the internet... !!!

Anyway, thanks for putting it on rapidshare! I don't mind waiting a little longer, I just don't want to pay for what should be free.  ;)

No kidding about the complaints. I just spend 25 hours downloading it using Jdownloader and there were no problems. Did it take a long time? Yes it did but it was free and I just left it on and let it do its thing. It's not hard people. No reason to be complaining about this. Thanks again for making this available Adywan.

I am so sorry for the missing audio fix part 1, this is entirely my error.

I have remade a new dlc w/ the missing file as well as posted adywans part 1 separately for those that already downloaded.

my apologies.

Mr. Adywan, sir, I'm a long time listener, third-time commenter or so (I think) and I'm joining the chorus of MANY THANKS for doing so much to fix Star Wars.

(Edited because question was answered)

In closing, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. That is all.

Ady did respond to that question a few pages back, eldiablosuizo, and essentially, the answer was "no."  He just did this because the 30th anniversary was approaching, and no one else's restoration projects were gonna make the date.  So, he jumped in, and did the finest job he could in the time he had.

Master Adywan^^

Although it was difficult for me at first, grow the film to me, I still managed!
I think whoever wants to have this great movie, should also do what it.

I want to thank you / thank them, the film is fantastic, I have never seen him so.
I'm really looking forward to the final ESB Revisited version, and I have absolute confidence in that this is Truly Great.
Hope of course still in German language:)
Otherwise, I must make ..

Well, long story short of it, Thanks, Thanks, Thanks !!!!!
