Alot of "Super secret, I'd have to kill you" stuff going on this week. That's why no Youtubes or updates this week. Trying to keep stuff under wraps so that people will be shocked when they watch it for the first time.
But ohhhhh, it's being worked on, and worked on, and worked on. 8)

Would you consider using only blue lightsabers for your edit, Bob?
And another question - would you consider removing those guys in the background as shown in these mock-ups (right click->view image).
They get killed in, like, 2 seconds, so they're pretty useless and it would make Mace seem more confident, like he's pretty sure he can take on Palpatine on his own.
And I believe Vaderous is the author of these mock-ups.

Found any way to get Mace to confront Palpatine alone? I'm aware that there's a problem with the multiple lightsaber ignitions accompanying Jackson's line in the centre channel and that the shot is moving too much for it to be as simple as just using a clean plate, but I'm sure it's possible. Just wondered :)

Lightsaber looks great.
The other Jedi getting killed in 2 seconds doesn't bother me too much. It's just how it looked in it's original form... They looked like they just stood there so Palpy could kill them... In the words of Mr. Plinkett: "I guess because the script told them to."
Bob made it roll faster in his edit and it seems like he is just that fast. It no longer bothers me.

yeah the official fight is "clunky" for want of a better word I would love to see the first 2 die a little quicker without all the fancy nonsense that was put in Fistos death needs to be smoothed out slightly as well

I think that would be the biggest issue...i wonder if they'll ever get around to windu on the soundboards....hmmm....

Give me a few min and Ill post the clip of palpatine kiling the jedi. I made it happen alot faster. So that It seems like the Jedi are caught off guard. Maces saber is not blue yet in the following shots tho, but just to show the pacing.

It may be still rendering with Youtube, so might look like crap for about 30 min. But heres the basic outline. Palpatine attacks quicker, Jedi fall faster. Just as mrbenja mentioned, cause he's seen my second cut of the film.
Again Maces saber for these parts are not done yet. So dont mind the color change in between shots

Isnt there any way to cut that stupid super-spin of Palpatine at 0:32?? Even the guys that made the trailers knew that shot was stupid. Its even more menacing if we dont see Palpatine making quick attack and just appearing there as an evil shadow... Maybe starting the "sith scream" while igniting the lightsaber, or a shot of Mace Windu's face scared while the scream sounds and then the shot 0:33
Besides that, i like the editing of the rest of the fight. The Jedi die faster and in a more logical way, Palpatine doesnt does the stupid back flip, and there is no shot of Palpatine and Mace Windu starting to fight again like if one of the two had to go to the bathroom for a moment.

Actually, there IS a shot of Mace Windu rising his lightsaber... You could have that shot while the scream starts sounding and then the shot of Palpatine jumping on them (it might not work as Mace Windu still has the lightsaber down in that shot... but its worth a try). It will also work to show that Mace Windu is the only one that could see him coming.

Hehe, just posted a reply to your youtube comment. I think the super spin could be dumped after looking at the footage.

-Maybe add a "Force run" type sound, like a boom.
-Then just go to the shot of him landing in front of the Jedi.
For sure it would make for a "Oh sh*t!" moment. Like Palps is super bad ass.
*Edit* As for Mace being the only one left alive. I'm still going the route that Palpatine doesnt kill Mace cause he needs him to help turn Anakin. This is all part of his plan. Thats why Mace doesnt die. Otherwise Palpatine just has 4 dead Jedi in his office, and alot of explaining to do. So no need to show that Mace saw him coming. Palpatine wasnt gonna kill him anyways. Well at least, not yet.

As Kit Fisto blocks that attacks to his shoulder, shame that it can't be edited as if Palp had sliced off the bottom of Fisto's saber. Thus Fisto being unable to block the next attack.

no the FIRST one who dies always looked like he was stood there with his saber up saying "ok ya can kill me now I won't bother resisting" and always bugged me so get rid of Palps landing and just have him leap/force run at them and cut to him having the blade already in the FIRST of the 3 jedi to get killed off.
