It makes me sad to think of all the good times that Amras Felagund, LexX, and Biff Tannen are missing out on. ;-)

Well, Actually there isn't. It is possible you filter out some, but never all (of either one).

In production, soundtracks are (almost) always recorded separately. Best thing to do in this case is make use of a OST with the movie's music, and as mentioned before the SW Sound Boards.

I know that The Beatles experimented with having all of the instruments on one side of the mix and all the vocals on the other side, but there's no way to separate vocals from music (or other things) really. You should be able to find isolated music tracks somewhere, though.

If you're working with the 5.1 mix, the vocals are mainly in the center channel, but (IIRC) there is usually a bit of leakage to the left and right channels.

One exception to this (at least) are Temuera Morrison's inserted lines in ESB - they are solely in the center channel, unlike Vader's lines in the same scenes.

Isn't a little like asking if you can separate the violins and the harps ? ;)

All the definitive SW film mixes are a blend of dialogs / sfx / and score anyway, no ?...

Many have tried ad failed, even those with MADSKILLZ lmao not  sound isn't like layers in photoshop, they are wavelengths. Though you could isolate one a phase it out, you'll eventually destroy the orig source. One reason my TMNT edit is taking forever is cause i have to completely rebuild the sfx for a battle scene and its just a looooooong time consuming process to recreate, on top of full time job lol good luck! ok back on topic :p

So would that mean that his lines would be easy to remove and replace with the original voice?

You'd still have to extract the original voice. It would be easier to just insert the audio straight from the 97SE. Him being only in the center channel means he would be easy to redub with a new voice, I guess. And that the 04SE is sloppy.

Yes, and I'll be shocked (shocked, I tell you!) if Adywan doesn't do so ;) There's not a lot of background noise in those scenes - I just pasted in a new section of center channel. The bleed into the left and right (on Vader's lines) is so slight that it really doesn't need replicating.

I think Ady is basing his edit on his AVCHD, so he's already working with the 97SE dialog anyway.

These 501st'ers took a trip to the set locations of Hoth, maybe they have photography which could be useful as background plates.

I'm already looking into it. One of them approached me a while ago concerning footage. =) For now he wishes to remain safely anonymous...

Ady has also received other images for backgrounds from another source from Finse as well or so I've heard.

Hi, have a question about the fan film, this is actually lawful if modified films such as ANH or ESB, and this is available to the public? This version is therefore also a copyright, since the film was only a little has been changed? Would be grateful for clarification.

You must do what you feel is right, of course.

The request for a image of the shield generator on Hoth was made a long time ago, and I just happened across this today. Apparently its from a special feature on the old Laser discs narrated by Don Bies at LFL Archives.

that's cool looking, i hope ady edits it in the movie to look more like the model. to me it always look like an old cheap piece of cardboard art.

Adywan must have made a breakthrough; the release date jumped ahead 10 years.  (yay)
