The whole" Lando dies" thing started out because so many were asking what my plans were for ROTJ:R when i was clearly still working on ESB:R and that is what the thread is for. So i just threw out something that would be controversial as a joke. End of. I don't plan on any radical changes to the OT, just little bits here and there in ROTJ:R. The PT is another matter entirely though.
